RESOLUTION OF INTENTION.
RESOLVED, by the City Council Of the City of South San Francisco, California, that in
its opinion the publiu interest and convenience require, and that it is the intention of said
Council to order, the £ollowing improvements to be made in and for said City, to-wit:
Section 1. The improvement of Shaw ~oad designated as follows:
The excavation, grading and installation of a fire protection telegraph alarm system, to-
gether ~ith available fire hydrants, in Industrial Acres, South San Francisco, California, and
all incident~ .~orx ~, t~ ~_h and upon said Sha~ Road in the City of South San Francisco, for
the entire length thereof ar~ including all street intersections, terminations and opposite ter-
minations as an~ to the extent that said streets and avenues appear upon that certain map entitled
"I~'DUSTRIAL ACltES, SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, SAN ~ATEO CO~Y, CALIFORNIA", which map was filed for record
in the office of the County Recorder of San kiateo County on ~ay ~, 1952, in Volume 35 of Official
~aps at pages 10 and 11.
Sed~tOn 2. I~enever any public way is herein referred to as running between two public ways,
or from or to any public ways referred to are included to the exte~ that work shall be shown on
the plans to be done therein. All of the hereinbefore proposed work or i~provement shall include
any and all street intersections, terminations and opposite term~inations occurring ~ithin the limits
of the ~ork hereinbefore mentioned, except as otherwise herein noted, and shall be of the forms,
sizes, dimensions, depths, in the locations and to the grades, as more ~rticularly shown on the
plans, profiles, cross-sections and soecifications therefor heretofore adopted by the City Council
of the City of South San Francisco on the 5th day of November, 1952, and now on file in the office of
the City Clerk of said City, and which plans, profiles, cross-sections and specifications are hereby
expressly made a part of this Resolution; there is excepted, however, from the abovementioned work
~ny and all thereof ~ich has already been done or lai~ to official lines and grades as heretofore
adopted and established in said plans, profiles, cross-sections and specifications;
Section 3. Reference is hereby made to the plans and ~pecifications on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco and entitled: "Specifications for Industrial Acres
Fire Protection" and the s~ne are incorporated herein as if fully set forth herein. Said reference
shall be for allpurposes of this Resolution o~' intention and more particularly for the pnrpose of describing
the area and areas to be improved, the nature and extent and location of such improvements, the extent,
boundaries and delineations of the assessment district to be hereafter Ibrmed for the rpurpose of assessing
the same for thecost of the work and improvement herein everywhere referred to.
Section ~. Reference is hereby made to the ~rritten petition of SOUTH S~ FRANCISCO LAND & I~-
PROV~]~ENT CO., a corporation, and ~.. P. KA!!FFi~NN, for said work and waiver of proceedings under the
"Special Assessment Investigation, Limitation an~ ~aJority Protest Act o~' 1913" and Resolution of said
Council declaring that said Act shall not apply to this proceeding, all on file in the o£fice of the
City Clerk of said City.
Section 5. Said City Council does hereby ~etermine and declare that said proposed work or improve-
ment is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and ~ill affect an~ benefit the lands and district
hereinafter referred to ~hich said district is hereby declared to be the district benefited by said ~ork
and improvement and that, therefore, theentire costs and expenses of said ~ork and improvement shall be
and are hereby made chargeable against and shall be asses'~ed upon said land and district, except as
hereinafter expressly provided. Reference is hereby m~.de to the plat or map on file in the office of the
City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco for a complete description of said distri~t~:said map or
plat bein:~ ~nd constituting a portion of ~he plans and specifications hereinbefore referred to. Said
district shall be constituted as aforesaic, saving, excepting and excluding therefrom, also, all areas
thereon shown to be "excepted and excluded". Said City Co,moil further declares that the total estimated
cost of said work and improvement is the sum oI' $5750.00 which is the estimated cost of said work and im-
provement to be assessed against thereaL property and assessment district proposed to be hereinafter
created, a s hereinafter mentioned and set forth.
Section:~.6. Reference is hereby made to all resolutions, records and reports on file in the off,ce
of the City Clerk of ~said City, relative to said proposed improvement, all of ~hich may at any time be
examined at the office of the City ~lerk of said City. All of the foregoing are hereby incorporated here-
in, as are also each, all and every the m~ps, plats, plans, cross-sections ar~ soe, ifi~tions herein every-

~~ e~. motzce msnereoy g~ven that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and to bear
interest at the rate of five per cent (5%) per anoum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by
the "Improvement Bond Act of 1915", and the amendments theretO, the last installment of which bonds shall
mature ~ne (9) years form the 2nd day of July next succeeding ten (lC) months form their date. The
South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a weekly newspaper printed and circulate~ in the City of South
San Francisco is hereby designated as the new~paper in which this Resolution of Intention shall be published,
and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this Resolution of Intention to be published by t~o (2) insert-
ions in the manner and form required b~ law. ',
The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated
work or improvement at not more than three handred (300) feet in distance apart, and along all the open streets
or from or to any public ways referred to are included to the extent that work shall be shown on
the plans to be done %herein. All of the hereinbefore proposed work or improvement shall include
any and all street intersections, terminations and opposite term'inations occurring within the limits
of the work hereinbefore mentioned, except as otherwise herein noted, and shall be of the forms,
sizes, dimensions, depths, in the locations and to the gredes, as more ~rticularly shown on the

ions in the manner and form required by law.
The Superintendent of Streets shall cause to be conspicuously posted along the ldne of said contemplated

and avenues within said district and in front o~' all property liable to be assessed at not less than three~3)
in all ~n each street in said district, notices of the passage of this Resolution of Intention, inthe manner
and form required by the "Improvement Act of 19il", and the amendments thereto.
Said City Council does hereby determine and declare that the public interest will not be served by
allow~n? the property owners to take the contract.
No,ice is hereby given that on Nonday, the 1st day of December, 1952, at the hour of eight o'clock
P.~. in the chamber room of said City Council of the City of South San Francisco at the City Hall on
Grand Avenue in said City of South San Francisco, any and all persons having any objections to the proposed
work andfimprovement herein descrived, or change and modification of existing established graded, or havin~
any objections to the proposed grades at which said work and imorovement sro to be done and .~mde or having
any objections to the proposed district to be assessed therefor or the boundaries or extent there6$ may appear
before said City Council and show cause why said proposed work orchange and modification of existing established
grades should not be carried out, in accordance with this Resolution of Intention.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all oi' the herein proposed work sn~! improvement shall be done in pursuance
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California, designated as the "Imorovement Act of 1911", approved
April. 7, 1911, and the amendment thereto.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to mail notices of the adoption of the '~ithin Resolution of Intention,
postage prepaid, to all persons specii'ied and in the time, form and manner provided for, in the "INPROVENENT
ACT OF 1911", herein every where referred to.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was reg~larly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of Smith San Francisco at an regular adjourned meeting thereo~' held on
the 5th day oI' November, 1952, by the following vote, to-wit:
