RESOL~!ION DIRECTING P~TBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING
SEALED PROPOSALS AND FIXING DATE OF HEARING THk~P~EON
FOR FIRE P~OTECTION SYSTEM IN SHA~V ROAD, INDUSTRIAL
ACRES PROCEEDINGS.
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, Califo~'nia, that
WH~EAS, the said Council, an the 5th day of November, 1952, did adopt Resolution of Intention
No. 1838 to order the excavation, grading and installation of a fire protection telegraph alarm system,
together with availabel fire hydrants, in Shaw Road, Industrial Acres, South San Francisco, California,
and all incidental work thereto which may be necessary to carry cub the ssme, reference to which Resolution
of Intention is hereby m~de for further particulars.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is hereby directed to publish, by
two successive insertions in the SGITH SAN FRANqISgO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL, a weekly newspaper published and
circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction o~ said improve-
ments, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said Clerk, the fir.t of which
publication shall be at least ten days prior to the time fixed I'or opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the order of said City,
amounting to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and ~aya~le to satdOity, signed by a
corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall Justify before any officer competent toad-
minister an oath, in double said amount and over all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited
or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the lowest responsible bidder depositing the same
does not, within the time specified by law, enter into a contract with d~e Engineer of ~?ork, the faithi'ul
performance of which shall be assured by an undertaking in the amount of 25% of the amount so bid, with
sureties satisfactory to this Board, and which shall be accompanied by a labor and m~terial bond in a sum
equal to 50% of the a~oun-t of said bid, under the provisions of Title l, Division 5, Chapter 3 of the
Government Code.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of this City on or before eight
o'clock P.M. of the 1st day of December, 1952, in the Co~mcil Chambers of said City Council of the City
of South San Francisco at the City Hall on Grand Avenue in said City of South San Francisco, said time
being n~t less than ten days from the time of the first publication of said noti,e. Bids will be publicly
opened, examined and declared on said day and hour.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and regularly adopted b~' the
City Council of the City Council ol' the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned reg~lar
meeting thereof held on the 5th day o~ November, 1952, by the foll~in~ vote:
