SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
August 6, 1980
Regular Meeting
TIME: 7:00 p.m.
PLACE: West Orange Avenue Library Auditorium
CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Ronald G. Acosta called the South San Francisco
Redevelopment Agency meeting to order at 7:05 p-m.
ROLL CALL: Present: Chairman Ronald G. Acosta; Vice Chairman Gus Nicolopulos;
Members Mark N. Addie9o, Emanuele N. Damonte, and
Roberta Cerri Teglia
Also present: Executive Director/Secretary C. Walter Birkelo;
Assistant Secretary Louis Dell'Angela; Director of
Finance William Anderson
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: By motion duly made, seconded and regularly carried, the Minutes
of the meeting of July 16, 1980, were approved.
S ZCTION OF ENVIRON- Assistant Secretary Dell'Angela recommended that the Board approve
MENTAL CONSULTANT, entering into an agreement with Environmental Science Associates,
ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE Inc., to critique the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the
ASSOCIATES, INC. Gateway Redevelopment Project and to assist staff in the prepara-
tion of the final EIR document. The cost for this service should
not exceed $5,000.
By motion made by Member Te§lia, seconded by Member Nicolopulos,
it was unanimously approved to accept the recommendation to retain
the firm of Environmental Science Associates, Inc.
AGENCY CONTRACT WITH Assistant Secretary Dell'Angela pointed out to the Board that the
KEYSER MARSTON agreement with Keyser Marston Associates for economic/redevelopment
ASSOCIATES plan services required the consultants to gain Board approval
before subcontracting any portion of their work. They indicated
SUBCONTRACT CERTAIN that they would like to retain the services of Katz, Hollis, Coren
SERVICES TO FIRM OF & Associates to advise them on some aspects of the final plan
KATZ, HOLLIS, COREN development and procedural matters connected therewith. There
& ASSOCIATES would be no added cost to the Agency inasmuch as payment for the
subcontracting services would be a part of the overall fees
authorized for Keyser Marston Associates
_ On motion of Member Te§lia, seconded by Member Nicolopulos, to
subcontract technical services was authorized by unanimous vote.
GOOD AND WELFARE: There was no Good and Welfare.
! OURNMENT: Executive Director Birkelo suggested that the Board adjourn until
2:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 7, 1980, in the Conference Room,
City Hall, which would allow them to consider an agreement for
engineering services for the Grand Avenue Underpass in the event
that an agreement was ready for action at that time.
Member Damonte moved, seconded by Member Addiego, and unanimously
carried, that the Board adjourn to 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 7,
1980, City Council Conference Room, City Hall.
Time of adjournment: 7:25 p.m.
