A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING RE-
MOVAL OF WEEDS, RUBBISH, REFUSE, AND DIRT
FROM PARKW~AYS, PARCELS OF LAND, AND SIDE-
WALKS.
P~EREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on the 18th
day of May, 1953, adopt its Resolution No. 18~1, ~n w~ich said city council determined
that weeds which will attain such a large ~r~th as to become a fire menace when dry
were growing upon the streets, parkways, sidewalks, and private property in said
city, and that rubbish, refuse, and dirt were present upon parkways, sidewalks, and
private property in said city, and declared that said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and
dirt must be removed and that the cost and expense of such removal shall be assessed
upon all lots of land in front of, and upon which, such weeds, rubbish, refuse,
and dirt exist, and, in said resolution, fixed Monday, the 1st day of June, 1953,
at the hour of 8o'clock p.m., and the council chamber in the city hall of said city,
as the time and place when and where all persons having any objections to the pro-
posed red. oval of said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt may appear before said city
council and s~ow cause why the work of the proposed removal of weeds, rubbish, re-
fuse, and dirt should not be carried out; and
WH~EAS no person has protested or opposed the removal of said weeds, rubbish,
refuse, and dirt;
R.~M.~OLVED by the Cit~;, Council of the City of South San Francisco that the super-
intendent of streets abate the nuisance caused by said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and dirt
by having them removed. Said superintendent of streets is hereby directed to keep
an account of the cost andexpense of abating the nuisance in front of, and upon,
each separate lot or parcel of land where the work of removing said weeds, rubbish,
refuse, and dirt may be done, ~nd render an itemized report in writing to the city
council, sh~.,'ing the cost and expense of removing said weeds, rubbish, refuse, and
dirt. Before such report is submitted to the city council, said superintendent of
streets shall cause a copy thereof to be posted on or near the chamber door of said
city council, together with a notice of filing the same, and of the time and place
when and where any persons interested in the work of removal of said weeds, rubbish,
refuse, and dirt will be heard by said city council, which copy of said report shall
be so posted for not less than ten (10) days prior to the time when said report may
be submitted to said city council.
I hereby certify tha~t the foregoing resolution was regulzrly introduced
and adopted by the City Oouncil of the City of South San Francisco, this 1st
day of June, 1953, by the following vote:
