A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO DE-
CLARING THE POLICY OF SAID CITY COUN-
CIL WITH RESPECT TO THE APPOINTMENT
OF ~MBERS OF THE VARIOUS CITY COM-
MISSIONS AND BOARDS.
WHEREAS each City Councilman is equal in authority and rank to that of every
other Councilman of the City of South San Francisco, including the mayor thereof; and
WHEREAS all the City Councilmen are equally responsible to all the people of
said City for the proper administration of the local government of said City, including
the functioning of its various commissions and boards; and
WHEREAS it is deemed to be in the best interest of the peopl~ of said City and
for thei~ betterment and general welfare if all the City Councilmen act jointly to se-
lect the members to be aDpointed to the various commissions and boards of said City rather
than for the mayor alone to make such apnointments subject only to the confirmation by
the other City Councilmen,
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City~ of South San
Francisco does H~reby declare it to be the policy of said City Council that hence forth
all members of all commissions and boards of said city shall be selected and appointed
by all the City Councilmen of said City acting in concert.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and ad-
opted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regularly adjourned
meetin~ held this 2Oth day of April, 195&, by the following vote:
Ayes, Councilmen John Noonan, Francis Lucchio, Telford Smith, Emilio Cortesi: George Bosworth.
Noes, Councilmen None
Absent, Councilmen None
