A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO COM-
~NDING ANTHONY CEVALLOS FOR HEROIC
CONDUCT.
WHEREAS on Saturday afternoon, Aoril 17, 195~, ROBERT ROMANOFF, of No. 655
Myrtle Avenue, in the City of South San Francisco, a fourteen {1~) year old pupil
at tBe Spruce Avenue School, in said City, became unconscious while swimming in
the swimming pool at the South San Francisco High School, and as a result there-
of had sunk to the bottom of the pool; and
WHEREAS ANTHONY CEVALLOS, of No. 19 Randolph Avenue, in said City of South
San Francisco, also a fourteen (l&) year old pupil at the Spruce Avenue School,
upon observing t~t said ROBERT ROMANOFF was lying at the bottom of the pool, im-
mediately rushed to his aid and rescued him by diving to the bottom of said swim-
ming pool and bringing him to the surface, and then carrying him to safety, all of
which was an outstanding examole of valor and heroic conduct,
NOW, THEREFORE, B~ IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco that ANTHONY CEVALLOS be, and he hereby is, recognized as a hero, an~
this City Council does therefore extend to him its very higest commendation for
the manner in which he conducted himself in so rescuing his classmate under con-
ditions involving extreme danger to himself.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread uDon the Official Minutes
of the City Council and that a parchment copy thereof be forwarded to ANTHONY CEVALLOS.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly intorduced and
adoote~ by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting
held on t~e 3rd day of May, 195~, by tBe following vote:
