A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
OPPOSING THE ISSUANCE OF AN ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE TO BE USED AT THE
PREMISES GENERALLY KNOWN AS THE "SAN MATEO COUNTY SHERIFF'S POSSE CLUB",
COMMONLY DESIGNATED AS NO. 300 BRYCE AVENUE, IN THE PARENAVEN SUBDIVISION
OF SAID CITY.
WHEREAS an application has been made for the issuance of an on-sale service club liquor
license for use at the premises generally known as the "San Mateo County Sheriff's Posse Club'
commonly designated as No. 300 Bryce Avenue in the City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS said premises are located in the midst of an area which is strictly residential
and adjoins public school property; and
WHEREAS the use of said premises for the dispensing of alcoholic beverages will very likely
result in disturbances to the residents of said area and is likely to create traffic hazards because
of the fact that the only means of ingress and egress to said premises is a winding route through a
residential area; and
WHEREAS the City CoUncil of the City of South San Francisco does verily believe that it
will be in the best interests of said City and of the people thereof if said application for an on-
sale service club liquor license is denied,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the said City Council that, for the reasons stated in the
premises hereto, said City Council does oppose the granting of said application for an on-sale
service club liquor license; further, said City Council is opposed, for all of said reasons, to the
issuance of an on-sale liquor license to any individual, or groups of individuals, or organizations,
for use at the aforesaid location. In this connection, the City Clerk of said City is hereby
instructed to forward, without delay, certified copies of this resolution to the appropriate
state boards and officials so that they may have the benefit of the opinion of this City Council
during the course of their deliberations with respect to the application hereinbefore mentioned.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, held this 20th day of June,
1955, by the following vote:
