A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO GIVING NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
CONTIGUOUS UNINHABITED TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO, SAID TERRITORY TO BE KNOWN AS "SUNSHINE GARDENS NO. 9"
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco has received a written
petition to annex the hereinafter-described real property to said City of South San Francisco as
uninhabited territory:
All that certain real property situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California,
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point at the most westerly corner of Lot 3 in Block 219 as said
Lot and Block are designated on the map entitled "MAP OF THE LANDS OF THE ABBEY
HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATION". which map was filed in the Office of the Recorder of
the County of San Mateo, State of California on January 2, 1872 in Book 15 of
Deeds at Page 23 and a copy entered in Book I of Maps at Page 14; thence from
said point of beginning Southeasterly along the southwesterly and southeasterly
boundary line of the "MAP OF THE LANDS OF THE ABBEY HOMESTEAD ASSOCIATEION" and ~
along the corporate limit line of the City of South San Francisco the following
courses and distances: South 55° 36' 04" East 815.30 feet and North 17° 24'
26" East 104.57 feet to the southwesterly line of Hillside Boulevard; thence
leaving the boundary line of the above mentioned map and the corporate limit line
of South San Francisco and running along the southwesterly line of Hillside
Boulevard North 55° 36' 04" West 784.75 feet to the most northerly corner of
Lot 3 in Block 219 of the above mentioned map; thence leaving the southwesterly
line of Hillside Boulevard and running along the northwesterly line of Lot 3
Block 219 South 34o 23' 56" West 100 feet to the point of beginning,
and,
WHEREAS the territory hereinbefore described is in fact uninhabited territory; and
WHEREAS said City Council has found, and does hereby find, that petitioner, PACIFIC
COAST CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, a corporation, is the owner of more than one-fourth (1/4) of the area of
the land hereinbefore described and represents more than one-fourth (1/4) of the assessed value of
said land, according to the last equalized assessment roll of the County of San Mateo; and
WHEREAS the Boundary Commission of the County of San Mateo has certified to the
definiteness and certainty of the boundaries of said property proposed to be annexed,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that said City Council hereby designates the territory hereinbefore described as "SUNSHINE GARDENS NO.9'
for the purposes of identification.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
Monday, the 15th day of August, 1955, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of
the City Hall in said City of South San Francisco be, and the same are, fixed as the time and place
when and where any person or persons owning real property within'the territory hereinbefore described,
and so proposed to be annexed, and having any objection to the proposed annexation of said territory
may appear before said City Council and show cause why said territory should not be annexed.
The City Clerk of said City shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published
once a week for two (2) consecutive weeks in the South San Francisco Enterprise - Journal, a newspaper
of general circulation published in said City of South San Francisco, and likewise for two (2)
consecutive weeks in the Advance-Star, a newspaper of general circulation published in the County of
San Mateo, but elsewhere than in the City of South San Francisco, both of said publications to be
completed at]Yeast twenty (20) days prior to the date of the hearing provided for in the paragraph next
above.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting held this
llth day of July, 1955, by the following vote:
