A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO DO CERTAIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT WORK IN THE
CIT~ OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON ~ISSION ROAD AND CHESTNUT AVENUE.
WHEREAS public interest and convenience require that work and improvements hereinafter
described should be done; and
WHEREAS, in the opinion of the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, said
contemplated work and improvement are, and are hereby declared to be, of more than local or ordinary
public benefit; and
WHEREAS an estimate of the cost and expense of said work has been filed with the City
Clexk of said City,
NOW,,TitEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
it is the intention of said City Council to order the following~'wekk and improvements to be done in
said City, to-wit:
The bringing to grade and widening of ¥ission Road between Chestnut Avenue and the
northern limits of the City of South San Francisco so that there shall be a driving
surface of forty-eight (48 feet in width; the installation of concrete curbs, gutters,
and, on the northeasterly side of said street, a sidewalk five (5) feet wide from
the intersection of Evergreen Drive to the intersection of said road with Chestnut
Avenue; surfacing of thes.:Street with a six (6)-inch rock base, and paving the same
with a one and one half (1-1/2)-inch black top over the existing pavement, and a three
(3) inch black top over the widened portions; the installation of all necessary catch
basinS; the installation of a bridge extension at the intersection of said road with
Oak Avenue; the construction of a six (6)-inch concrete lining of the existing drainage
ditch along the southwesterly-side of Mission Road frOm Grand Avenue to the existing
Oak Avenue bridge. The bringing to grade and widening of ChestnUt~Avenue from
Commercial AVenue to E1 camino Real so that there shall be a driving surface of
fortY-eight (48) feet in,width; the installation of concrete curbs, gutters, and, on
the northwesterly side of said Street, a sidewalk five (5) feet wide; surfacing of
the street with a six(6)-inch crush-rock base and paving the same with a one and
one-half (1-1/2)-inch black top over the existing pavement and a three (3)-inch
black top over the widened portion; the installation of catch basins; the tnetall-
ation of a bridge extension over the existing drainage canal, andthe installation
of a fenCe along said canal bank.
All the work provided for shall be done in accordan~

All the work provided for shall be done in accordance with the special plans, profiles,
and specifications for said work, and at the locations and to the grades shown upon said plans, which
plans, profiles, and specifications were adopted by said City Council on the 1st day of August, 1955,
and are now o~ file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Reference is hereby made.to said plans, profiles, and'specifications for a full description
of said work and for the location and the extent of the work to be done hereunder and for hhe grades
at which said work is to be done, and for a particular description of theboundaries of the district ·
herein mentioned. Said C&ty.~Council does hereby determine and declare that said proposed work and
improvement are of more than local or ordinary public benefit and will affect and benefit the'lands
and district hereinafter described, which said district is hereby declared to be the district
benefited by said work and improvement, and that, therefore, the entire cost and expense of said work
and improvement shall be, and hereby are, made chargeable against, and shall be assessed upon, said
lands and district, except as hereinafter expressly provided, Which dt. strict is particularly describe
as follows, to-wit:
PARCEL I
All that certain land situate in the'City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, Stat
of California, more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the southeasterly line of Evergreen Drive, said point being the
intersection of the northerly property line of Lot 1, Block 1, with the southeasterly line of Evergre
DriVe., as said Block is designated on the map entitled "Sunshine Gardens No. 1, South San Francisco,
California", which map was filed in the office of the Recorder of the County of San Mateo, State of
California on October 31, 1952, in Book 35 of Maps at .page 49; thence from said point of beginning
southeasterly along the northerly property lines of Lots 1 through 6; thence southeasterly to the
most northerly corner of that certain 0.092 acre parcel of Umberto and Louise Capurro as designated
by the Assessor's Map Mo. 5 of South San Francisco; thence along the northerly property line to the
northeasterly corner of the last said parcel; thence southeasterly along a line, parallel to and

Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and to bear
interest at the rate of five percent (5%) per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner
provided by Division 10 of the Streets and Highways Code, in the Improvement Bond Act of 1915,
and the last installment of such bonds shall mature fourteen (14) years from the 2d day of July
next succeeding ten (10) months from their date.
'The South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, printed
and published in said City of South San Francisco, is hereby designated as the newspaper in which
this resOlution of inteation shall be published, and the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause this
resolution to be published by two (2)insertions in the manner and form required by law.
Said City Clerk ts also directed to mail a notice of the adoption of said resolution of
intention, postage prepaid, to all persons owning property which is proposed to be assessed to pay
any part of the cost of said work, whose names and addresses appear on the last equalized
assessment roll, or as known to said City Clerk.
The DirEctor of Public Works, as ex-officio Superintendent of Streets, shall cause to be
consPic~6usly posted along the line of said.contemplated work of improvement, and not more than
three hundred (300) feet in distance apart, but not less than three (3) in all, and along all the
open streets within said district at not ~ore than three hundred (300)feet ~n distance apart on
each said street, notices of the passage of this resolution of intention, in the manner and form
required by the Improvement Act of 1911.
Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, the 6th day of September, 1955, at the hour of
~8:00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of said City Council of the City of South San Francisco,
any and al~*persons having any objections to the proposed work and improvements may appear before
said City Council and show cause why said proposed work and improvement should not be carried out
in accordance with this resolution.
Except as hereinbefore provided, all the herein proposed work shall be done pursuant to
an act of the Legislature of the State of California designated as the "Improvement Act of 1911".
I hereby certify that the foregQ~ng Resolution was regularly Introduced and adopted by
the City Councll of the City of.South San Francisco at a regular meeting thereof held on the
day of August, 1955, by the following vote:
