A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
CALLING FOR SEALED BIDS OR PROPOSALS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT
OF MAYFAIR AVENUE FROM MAYFAIR VILLAGE SUBDIVISION No. 3
TO SOUTH SPRUCE AVENUE AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF SOUTH CANAL
STREET FROM SOUTH SPRUCE AVENUE TO LINDEN AVENUE.
RESOLVED by theCity Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that
WHEREAS, the City Council of said City did:, on the 29th day of August, 1955, adopt its
resolution of preliminary approval of WILSEY & HAM's report, wherein it did preliminarily
approve the plans and specifications for the construction of street improvements, all as more
particularly described and set forth in Resolution of Intention No. 2207 adopted by said
Council on August 29, 1955;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED that the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed Bo pub-
lish twice in the South San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation
published and printed in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the constructio.
of said improvements, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of the
City Clerk, the first publication of which shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the date
of opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the order of
the City, amounting to ten (10) per cent of thebid, or by a bond in said amount and payable
to said City, signed by a corporate surety. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall
become payable to said City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen
(15) days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him enter into a contract
with the City.
Sealed bids or proposals will be received by LOUIS H. GOSS, ~irector of Public Works of
said City, who is hereby appointed for that purpose, the same to be submitted to him at his
office in the City Hall of said City, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at any
time on or before 3:00 o'clock P.M. on Friday, the 7th day of October, 1955, said time being
not less than ten (10) days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will
be publicly opened, examined, and declared at said time and place, by said Director of Public
Works, who will then prepare a written analysis and report with respect to said bids and submit
the same to said City Counc~ at its regular adjourned meeting at 8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 10th
day of October, 1955, for its consideration in connection with the award of contract.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by
the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting this 19th day of
September, 1955, by the following vote:
