A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,
DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS, AND FIXING
DATE OF HEARING THEREON FOR IMPROVEMENT OF AIRPORT BOULEVARD INDUSTRIAL
TRACT.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, on the 19th day of September, 1955,
did adopt Resolution of Intention No. 2237 to order the improvement of Airport Boulevard Industrial
Tract, reference to which ResOlution of Intention is hereby made for further particulars; and
WHEREAS said City Council, on the 19th day of September, 1955, did adopt Resolution No. 2243
to order the publication of Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals and Fixing Date of Hearing thereon in
the above-mentioned improvements; and
WHEREAS the said City Council, on the 10th day of October, 1955, did examine the sealed
proposals or bids and found that all such proposals and bids greatly exceed the estimate of the
Engineer of Works; and
WHEREAS said City Council did, on the 10th day of October, 1955, adopt Resolution No. 2254 re-
jecting all proposals or bids for the construction of aforesaid improvements; and
WHEREAS said City Council desires to republish the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals for the
purpose of obtaining new or additional bids or proposals for the aforesaid i~provement work,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
the City Clerk is hereby directed to publish, by two (2) successive insertions in the SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice
inviting sealed proposals or bids.for the construction of said improvements, and referring to
the plans and specifications on file in the office of said Clerk, the first of which publications
shall be at least ten (10) days prior to the time fixed for opening bids.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a certified check payable to the order of said
City, amounting to ten percent (10%) of the bids, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said
City, signed by a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any
officer competent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory
exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case
the lowest responsible bidder depositing the same does not,'within the time specified by law, enter
into a contract with the Director of Public Works of said City, the faithful performance of which
shall be assured by an undertaking in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the amount so bid, with
sureties satisfactory to said City Council and which shall be accompanied by a labor and material
bond ~n a sum equal to fifty percent (50%) of the amount of said bid, under the provisions of
Title I, Division 5, Chapter 3 of the Government Code.
Sealed proposals or bids will be received by LOUIS H. GOSS, Director of Public Works of said
City, who is hereby appointed for that purpose, the same to be submitted to him at his office in
the City Hall of said City, Grand Avenue, South San Francisco, California, at any time on or before
1:00 o'clock p.m. on Monday, the 24th day of October, 1955, said time being not less than ten (10)
days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined,
and declared at said time and place, by said Director of Public Works, who will then prepare a
written analysis and report with respect to said bids and submit the same to said City Council at
its regular adjourned meeting meeting at 4:30 o'clock P.M. on the 24th day of October, 1955 for
its consideration in connection with the award of contract.

Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting ~ereof on the 10th day
of October, 1955, by the following vote:
