A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
AWARDING THE CONTRACT TO PERFORM THE WORK DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF
INTENSION NO. 2237.
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, in open session, on the 24th
day of October 1955, publicly open, examine, and declare all sealed proposals or bids for doing the
work and improvement, and for the furnishing of all materials, labor, and equipment necessary for
the doing of said work and improvement, in said city, described in Resolution of Intention No. 2237
of the City Council of said City, adopted on the 19th day of September, 1955, which Resolution of
Intention is hereby expressly referred to for a description of said work and improvement and for all
particulars relative to the proceedings under said Resolution of Intention; and
WHEREAS said City Council did, on the 10th day of October, 1955, order the publication of a
notice inviting sealed proposals in which the work described in the hereinabove-referred-to
Resolution of Intention was divided into PROJECT I and PROJECT II, and did request that bids for
said work be made separately for PROJECT I AND PROJECT II,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that said City Council hereby rejects all said proposals
or bids for the work described as PROJECT I except that hereinafter mentioned and hereby awards the
contract for doing said work and making said improvement and for the furnishing of all materials,
labor, and equipment necessary for the doing of said Work or improvement to the lowest responsible
bidder, to-wit: LOWRIE PAVING COMPANY at the prices named in their bid on file in the office of the
City Clerk.
BE 'IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said City Council hereby rejects all said proposals or bids for
the work described as PROJECT II except that hereinafter mentioned and hereby awards the contract
for doing 'said work and making said improvement and for the furnishing of all materials, labor,
and equipment necessary for the doing of said work or improvement to the lowest responsible bidder,
to-wit: OSCAR C HOLMES, INC. at the prices named in their bid on file in the office of the City
Clerk.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to publish notice of said award twice in the SOUTH SAN
FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL, a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City and hereby
designated for that purpose by said City Council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted at an
adjourned regular meeting of the C~ty Council of the City of South San Francisco held on the 24th
day of October, 1955, by the following vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Andrew Rocca, Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen, Telford Smith
NOES, " None
ABSENT, " Francis Lucchio
