A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FP~NCISCO
ORDERING THE VACATION OF A CERTAIN PUBLIC STREET DEDICATED TO THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND KNOWN AS "SOUTHWOOD CENTER."
WHEREAS the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did~ on the 19th day of September
1955, adopt a resolution declaring its intention to order the vacation of a certain public street
dedicated to the City of South San Francisco and known as "Southwood Center", and an adjacent area
dedicated to the City of South San Francisco for parking area and alley, being all that certain
property situate in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California,
described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the Easterly boundary of Southwood Center, said point being
contiguous with Northwesterly corner of Lot 6 and the Southwesterly corner of Lot 5
of that certain subdivision as shown on that certain map entitled "RE-SUBDIVISION
SOUTHWOOD COMMERCIAL TRACT SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF." recorded January 2, 1948 in Book
28 of Maps at page 29 in the office of the Recorder, San Mateo County, California;
thence from said point of beginning, Southerly and to the left along the arc of a
circular curve whose radius is 865 feet; through a central angle of 14° 14' 02" an arc
distance of 214.89 ft. to the end of curve as shown on the above mentioned map; thence
S 31° 47' 50" E. 88.05 ft.; thence S 550 42' 10" W 70.06 ft.; thence No. 31° 47' 50"
W 80.00 ft.; thence S. 58o12, 10" W. 118.74 ft.; thence S. 31° 47' 50" E. 85.18 ft4
thence S. 55° 42' 10" W. 118.59 ft.; thence No. 7° 10' 50" W. 568.85 ft.; thence along
the arc of a circular curve to the left whose radius is 490 ft. through a central angle
,of 2° 36' 50" an arc distance of 22.36 ft ; thence S. 7° 10' 50" E. 337.95 f~t.~g thence
S. 31° 47' 50" E. 70.20 ft.; thence N. 586 12' 10" E. 106.00 ft.; thence N.-v 12' 10"
E. 20.13 ft.; thence Northerly along the arc of a circular curve to the right whose
radius is 935 ft. through a central angle of l0° 58' 46" an arc distance of 179.17 ft.
to a point on the Westerly boundary of the above mentioned Southwood Center; thence
along a radial to said curve N. 72° 26' 12" E. 70.00 ft. to the point of beginning;
and
WHEREAS said Resolution of Intention was published and notice of the passage of said Resolution
of Intention was posted in the manner and form required by law, reference being hereby made to the
affidavit of Dave Corsiglia, which affidavit is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City; and
WHEREAS a public hearing was held at a regular meeting in the City Hall of said City on the
'17th day of October 1955, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.; and
WHEREAS all protests made against the vacating of said public street have been overruled; and
WHEREAS said City CounCil has determined, and does hereby determine, that said public street
is unnecessary for present or prospective public purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, said City Council hereby orders that said public street be, and the same
hereby is, vacated and ~bandoned.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an adjourned regular meeting held this 24th
day of October 1955, by the following vote:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Andrew Rocca, Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamlen, Telford Smith
NOES, " None
