HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso 2294-1955RESOLUTION NO. 2294 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REQUESTING TEE STATE HIGHWAY COMMISSION TO DECLARE FREAMAY STATUS TO A PORTION OF SKYLINE BOULEVARD. WHEREAS the Supervisors of the County of San Mateo did, on the 18th day of October, 1955, pass and adopt Resolution No. 9849 requesting the State Highway C~issiou to declare freeway status for the portion of Skyline Boulevard which extends from the San Francisco County line to its intersection with former State Highway 214 (Ralston Avenue); and ~ if freeway status is given to said portion of Skyline Boulevard, it will provide an adequate means for through traffic to by-pass the City of South San Francisco ou the western extremity thereof and thereby decrease the traffic hazards and road congestion iu said city, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that said city does look with favor upon the designating of the above-mentioned portion of Skyline Boulevard as a freeway, and does hereby request the State Highway Commission to declare freeway status for said portion of Skyline Boulevard. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of said city is hereby ordered and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the State Highway Commission of the State of California and to the City Councils of the cities in the County of San MateoJL'from Daly City to and including Redwood City. I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution Was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 19th day of December, 1955, by the following vote: AYES, COUNCILMEN: NOES, " : ABSENT, " : Andrew Rocca, Francis Lucchio, Emilio Cortesi, Richard Gamleu, Telford Smith.
