A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO S~.T. OR TRANSFER CERTAIN PUBLIC PROPERTY
OWNED BY SAID CITY, TO-WIT: THE ENTIRE BURI-BURI FIRE STATION
PRC~ERTY (BOTH LAND AND ALL IMPROVEMENTS, INCLUDING STATION BUILDING).
WHERFAS the facilities of the Buri-Buri Fire Station are inadequate to provide the surrounding
area with adequate fire protection, and whereas the site for said fire station is insufficient to permit the
enlargement of said facilities; and
WHEREAS the City Council Of the City of South San Francisco has heretofore conducted
negotiations with the California Water Service Company, a California corporation, for the purpose of obtaining a
new fire station site on Commercial Avenue, near the intersectbn thereof with Chestnut Avenue, and whereas, upon
the acquisition of said site and the erection of a fire station building thereon, said City will no longer have
need for said Buri-Buri Fire Station, and whereas the same will then become surplus property of said City and
should, in the best interests of said City and the citizens thereof, be sold or transferred,
follows:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco as
Section 1. On the basis of the premises hereto, said City Council does hereby declare its
intention to order certain real property owned by said City to be sold or transferred, namely, the entire Burl-
Burl Fire Station property (both land and all improvements, including station building). There follows a legal
description of said property:
Lots 1 and 2 in Block No. 1 as shown upon that map entitled
"Rancho Buri-Buri South San Francisco", which map was filed in
the office of the County Recorder of the County of San Mateo,
State of California, MarCh 22, 1946 and recorded in Book 25 of
Maps at pages 28, 29 and 30.
Section 2. Said City Council hereby fixes Monday, the 6th day of February, 1956, at the hour
of 8:00 o'clock P M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, in said City of South San Francisco, County of San
Mateo, State of California, as the time and place for hearing all persons interested in, or objecting to, the sale
or transfer of said publicly owned real property, and final action in said matter will be taken by said City
Council immediately upon the close of said hearing.
Section 3. The action hereby taken by said City Council is pursuant to the provisions of
Title 4, Division 3, Part 2, Chapter 5, Article 3 of the Government Code of the State of California.
Section 4. Notices of the passage of this resolution of intention, giving the time and place
of hearing thereon, shall be conspicuously posted along the lines of said public property for at least ten (10)
days prior to said hearing, and not more than three hundred (300) feet in distance apart, and not less than three
(3) in all.
Section 5. This resolution of intention shall be published by one (1) insertion in the
Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said City of South San
Francisco.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the C ~y of South San Francisco this 16th day of January, 1956, by the
following vote:
