A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY gOUNCLL OF THE CI'lSf OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF .~ GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION IN SAID
CITY ON THE ~H DAY OF APRIL 1956, DESIGNATING PRECINCTS, POLLING PLACF~,
AND ELECTION OFFICERS, AND DESIGNATING PROPOSITIONS TO BE VOT].D UPON.
BE IT RF~OL~ED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
that, for the purpose of holding the general municipal election in said city on the lOth day
of April 1956, as provided by law, said city be, and the same hereby is, divided into
thirty-one (31) election precincts, to be known as:

BE IT FURTHER R~h~SOLVED BY SAID City Council that the aforesaid precincts
and the polling places thereof shall be designated as follows:

Voting Precinct A shall include all the territory described in South
San Francisco Precinct No. 12 as established by that certain resolution numbered 10,O63
and entitled "RESOLUTION AND ORDN{ DIVigING THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, CALIFORNIA, INTO
ELECTION PRECINCTS ~4D ~TA~LISHING THE BOUNDARIES THEREOF", passed and adopted by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of San Marco, California, on the 3rd day of January,
1956, and the polling place for said Voting Precinct A shall be in Painter's Garage at
No. &l Randolph Avenue in said City of Shouth San Francisco.
Voting Precinct B shall include all the territory described in
South-San Francisco Precincts Nos, 1 and l& as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of san Marco, and the polling place for said Voting
Precinct B shall be in ~artin Primary School, at ~V~ple Avenue and School Street, in
said City.
Voting Precinct C shall include all the territory described in South
San Francisco Precincts Nos. 15 and 39, as established by said resolution of the
Board Of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said
Votin~ Precinct C shall be in Banchero's Garage, at No. l~l Claremont Avenue, in
said ~ity.
Voting Precinct D shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precinct Nos, ~0 and 2l, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the pollin$ place for
said Voting Precinct D a~l. 1 be in the Andersen Residence, at No. 1361 Hillside
Boulevard, in said City.

South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 9 and 11, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San ~ateo, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct E shall be in Espinosa's Garage, at No. 207 California Avmaue, in said
City.
Voting Precinct F shall include all the territory descrLbed in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. ? and 16, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said
Votin~ Precinct E shall be in the Windbreaker Hall, at No. 312 Maple Avenue, in
said Uity.
Voting Precinct G shall include all the territory described in

South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 8 and 27, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for
said Voting Precinct H shall be in Spruce Avenue School at Spruce Avenue and
Tamarach Lane, in said City.
Voting Precinct I shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. &~andlV, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for
said Voting Precinct I shall be in Tognela's Garage at No. 601 Miller Avenue, in
said City.
Voting Precinct J shall inc].ude all the territory described in South
San Francisco Precincts Nos. 5 and 6, as established by Said resolution of the
Board of Supervisors of said County of San Marco, and the p~lling place for said
Voting Precinct J shall be in Lazzari's Residence, at No. 529 Baden Avenue,
in said City.
Voting Precinc' K shall include all the territory described in
S~ugh Ban Francisco Precincts Nos. 3 and ~, as established by said resolution of the Board of
Supervisors of said Cmmty of San Mateo, and the polling place for said Voting

South San Francisco Precinct No. 2, as established by said resolution of the

said Voting Precinct M shall be in Oliver's Garage at No. 700 Circle Court,
in said City.
Voting Precinct N shall include ~11 the territory described in

Voting Precinct P shall include all the territory described

Avenue, in said City.
Voting Precinct Q shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 19 and 30, as established by said resolution
of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Marco, and the polling place
for said Voting Precinct Q shall be in Carlyle's Garage at No. 708 West Orange
Avenue, in said City.
Voting Precinct R shall include all the territory described
in South San Francisco Precincts Nos.. ~ and AS, as established by said resolution
of the Board of Supervisors of said ~ounty of San ~teo, ~nd the polling place for
said Voting Precinct R shall be in Beccone's Garage at No. 18 Graystone Drive, in
said City.
Voting Precinct S shall include all the territory des~ribed in
South San Francisco Precinct~ Nos. ~9, 50, 67, and 6~, as established by s~i~ resolution
of the Borad of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said
voting Precinct S shall be in the E1 Rancho School at Del.Monte and Romney Avenues, in
said City.
Voting Precinct T shall include all the territory described in South
San Francisco Precincts Nos. ~6, 47, and ~8, as established, by said resolution of the
Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said Voting
Precinct T shall be in the Denning Residence at No. 209 Longford Drive, in said City.
Voting Precinct U shall include all the territo~ described in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 38, 60, and 61, as established, by said resolution
of the '~rd of Super~isors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for
said Voting Precinct U shall be in Cunningham's Garage at No. ~55 Alhambra ~oad, in said
City.
Voting Precinct V shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precinct No. 35, as established by said resolution of the Board
of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said Voting
Precinct V shall be in Stuller's GaraEe at No~ 15~ Francisco Drive, in said City.
Voting Precinct W shall include all the territory described im
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 2~ and 26, as established by said re~olu~ion of the
Board of Supervisors of said County of San ~ateo, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct W shall be in Robinson's Garage at No. 201 Maywood Way, in said City.
Voting Precinct x shall include all the territory described in South
San Francisco Precinct No. 25, as establishe~ by said resolution of the Board of Super-
visors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said Voting Precinct ~
shall be in Pierson's Garage at No. 20& Rockwood Drive, in said City.
Voting Precinct Y shall include all the t~rritor~ described in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 36 and 37, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said
Voting Preciact Y shall be in Apman's Garage at No. ~30 Northwood Drive, in said City.
Voting Precinct Z shall include all the territory ,tescribed in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 52 and 56, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct Z shall he in Baldassini's Garage at No. 215 Chestnut Avenue, in said
City.
Voting Precinct AA shall include all the territory demcribed in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 53, 5&, and 57, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San ~ateo, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct AA shall be in Casey's Garage at No. 261 Westview Drive, in said City.
Voting Precinct BB shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precim~s Nos. 55, 58, and 5?, a~ established by said resolution
of the Board of Supervisors of said C~lnty of San ~teo, and the polling place for said
!~ting Precinct BB shall Be in Hoxmeier's GaraEe at No. 388 Gardenside Avenue, in said

Voting Precinct CC shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 31 and 32, as established by said resolution of
the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling place for said
Voting Precinct CC shall be in the Royal Residence at No. 206 Camaritas Avenue, in
said City.
Voting Precinct DD shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco precincts Nos. 33, &3, 6~, 65, and 66, as established by said
resolution of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling
place for said Voting precinct DD shall be in Burl Buri Elementary School at Del
Monte Avenue and El Campo Drive, in said City.
Voting Precinct EE shall include all the territory described in
South San Francisco Precincts Nos. 3&, &~, 62, and 63, as established by said
resolution of the Board of Supervisors of said County of San Mateo, and the polling
place for said Voting Precinct EE shall be in SJodin'$ Garage at No. ~26 Arroyo Drive,
in said City.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the following named persons be, and they
hereby are, appointed as me,bets, or officers, of the election boards for the aforesaid

At said general municipal election the polls in each of said voting
precincts shall be opened at 7 o'clock a.m. of the day of election and shall be kept open
until 8 o'clock p.m. of said day, when the polls shall be closed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, at said general municipal election
there shall be submitted to the electors of said City of South San Francisco the following
propositions or measures:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
(STORM DRAINAGE STRUCTURES)
"Shall the City of South San Francisco incur a bonded indebtedness
in the amount of $1,200,000 for the acquisition, construction, and completion of a municipal
improvement consisting of storm drainage structures including storm water sewers, catch-
basins, culverts, earth and concrete lined drainage channels, and storm water pumping station
and the acquisition of lands and easements necessary or useful therefor, and all acquisitions
and improvements auxiliary thereto that are necessary or useful in the completion thereof?"
PROPOSITION NO. 2 (COVERED DRAINAGE STRUCTURES)
"Shall {he City of South San Francisco incur a bonded indebtedness
in the amount of $800,000 over and above the amount stated in Proposition No. 1 for the
acquisition, construction, and completion of a municipal improvement consisting of storm
water box culverts and conduits and covered drainage channels?"
PROPOSITION NO. 3
"Shall the members of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco receive compensation for their services in the amount of $150.00 per month?"
PROPOSITION NO. 4
"Shall the members of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco receive compensation for their services in the amount of $100.00 per month''
PROPOSITION NO. 5
"Shall the member of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco who may be chosen as Mayor by said City Council receive the sum of $50.00 per
month for his services as Mayor, in addition to the amount of money which he may be per-
mitted to receive as a member of said City Council?"
PROPOSITION NO. 6
"Shall the member of the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco who may be chosen as Mayor by said City Council receive the sum of $25.00 per
month for his services as Mayor, in addition to the amount of money which he may be per-
mitted to receive as a member of said City Council?"
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the City Clerk shall cause each of
said propositions to be placed upon the ballot for said general municipal election, in the
manner and form required by law. He is also directed to publish said propositions or
measures, or a synopsis thereof, twice before the day of election in the "SOUTH SAN FRAN-
CISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL". Further, said City Clerk shall, as provided for by law, cause
to be prepared and to be printed for the aforesaid precincts, for the use of the voters
at said general election, a sufficient number of ballots, said ballots to be printed upon
the proper kind of paper, to-wit: the same as is used at the general elections in the
State of California. In addition, said City Clerk shall, as required by law, procure all
necessary election materials and supplies to be used at said precincts for the conduct of
said general election, including the obtaining and erecting of necessary voting booths.
BE IT STILL FURTHER RESOLVED THAT said City Clerk be, and he
hereby is, directed to give notice of the aforesaid designation of election officers and
polling places by one publ~ation thereof in the "SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTERPRISE-JOURNAL".
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at an
adjourned regular meeting thereof this 27th day of February, 1956, by the following vote:
