A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL O~ THE CITY OF SOO~
C~S~UGTION OF A B~TRIAN OV~PASS AT HIOK~ B0gL~ARD
~ H~N AV~UE IN SAID CITY AND DIRECTING PUBLICATION
OF NOTICE INVITING SEAL~ PROPOSALS FOR BIDS FOR ~E
CONS~UCTION OF SAID OV~PASS.
~t~ERE~,S the Director of Public Works of the City of South San Francisco
h~s prepared plans and specifications with respect to the construction of a pedestrian overpass at
Hickey Bouleva?d and Hilton Avenue within said City of South San Francisco; ~nd
WHFREAS the City Council of said City deems it advisable asbeing in the best
interests of the public and for its general welfare that said plans and specifications be approved,
NOW, THEREFO~E, BE IT RESOLVED by the ~ity Council of the City of South San
Francisco that the plans and specifications prepared and submitted by the Director of Public Works with
respect to the construction of a pedestrian overpass at Hickey Boulevard and Hilton Avenue in said City,
which are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City, be, and they hereby are, accepted and
~pproved.
BE IT FURTHF~ RUSOLVFD that the City Clerk be, and he hereby is, directed to
publish, by two (2) successive insertions in the SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ~;TERPRIS~JOURNAL,a weekly newspaper
published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of
Said pedestrian overpass, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said
Clerk, the first of which publications shall be at least ten (l~) days prier to the time fixed for o~ening
bids.
BE IT STILL FURTHER R}~OLVED that Louis H. Goss, Director of Public Works
of said City, be,?nd he hereby is, aopointed to receive sealed bids, or proposals at his office in the
City Hall of said City, at any time on or before 2:30 P. M. on Friday, the 22nd day of June 1956, said time
heine not less than ten (~0) days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be
~ublicly oppened, examined, and declared at said time and place, by said Director of Public Wegks, who
v~ll then prepare a written report with respect to said bids and submit the same to said City Council
for its considerstion in connection with the award of said bid.
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City Clerk be, and he hereby is, instructed to
forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Directors of Joint Highway Ne. l0 of the State of
Omlifornia, the public body having direction and control of Hickey Boulevard.
