A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
CREATING THE SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
WHEREAS, development of properties has been accelerated in certain newer areas
and in industrial areas while at the sa~e time in certain older areas development has been
delayed pr stopped, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that in certain areas, by reason of said
delay 'or stoppage of development, an economic dislocation, deterioration and disuse has re-
sulted causing a prevalence of depreciated values and impaired investments and further.pre-
venting proper utilization of the areas, and
WHEREAS, such conditions tend to further obsolescence, deterioration and disuse
because of the lack of incentive to the individual land owner and his inability to improve,
modernize or rehabilitate his property while conditions of the neighboring properties remain
unchanges, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that there exists, in certain areas,
blight areas which constitute the social or economic liabilities or both requiring redevelop-
ment in the interest of the health, safety and general welfare of the people of the City of
South San Francisco and of the State of California, and
WHEREAS, the rehabilitation of these areas would make for a more sound economic
condition in said City.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco does resolve
as follows: that there exists in the City of South San Francisco a need for a redevelopment
agency to function in said City and that, therefore, there shall be created a public body,
corporate and politic, known as the Redevelopment Agency, and that such Agency shall be
composed of such members and shall transact such business and exercise such powers as promul-
gated by the California Redevelopment Law of 1951 as amended.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the appointments as members of the Redevelopment
Agency shall be F. D. Minucciani, Chairman; members, Rudy Santini, Anita Robertson, Henry
Venturi and Joseph Leonard.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and
· adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held on the 18th day of February, 1957, by the following vote:

and Leo J. Ryan
