A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FI~NCISCO SUPPORTING ADVISORY PLANNING COUNCIL AND
RECOMMENDED CONTINUING SUPPORT FROM SAN MATEO COUNTY
WHEREAS, the San Mateo County Advisory Planning Council has successfully com-
pleted more than two years' operation during which time it has provided a forum for dis-
cussing intercommunity problems and has thereby contributed immeasurably to the development
of the County-wide Master Plan; and
WHEREAS, said council because of its regular schedule of meetings has been able
to mobilize community support for projects benefiting the county and its fourteen cities,
such as the rerouting of Nineteenth Avenue, the county-wide small boat harbor plan, and the
securing of an Urban Planning Assistance Grant from the Federal Government in the amount of
$25,000 which permitted the expansion of the scope of the Master Plan ~r0ject; and
WHEREAS, the County of San 'Mateo has, through the Master plan Project, Pro-
vided secretarial and technical services and professional advice necessary for the proper
functioning of the Advisory Planning Council; and
WHEREAS, the Master Plan Project will be terminated during the early part of
the next fiscal year leaving said council with no staff services; and
WHEREAS, in order to continue the successful operation of the council, staff
services are necessary; and
WHEREAS, rapid growth and development of this county makes coordination ever
more imperative,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 'IT RESOLVED.'that' t he City Council d~es mcognize the value of
the Advisory Planning Council, to San Mateo County and to this city; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this City Council does endorse and recommend that
the County of San Mateo continue to provide staff services for the Advisory Planning Council;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this city pledges its continued support of the
Advisory Planning Council through the active participation of a member of its City Planning
Commission and the referral of planning matters requiring intercommunity coordination to the
Advisory Planning Council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 15th day of April,
1957, by the following vote:
AYES, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Andrew Rocca, Emilio Cortesi and
Leo J. Ryan.
NOES, None
ABSENT, Councilman Francis Lucchio
