A RESOLUTION OF THE CI,TY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO Co,ENDING AND CONGRATULATING JOHN THOMAS
GARDNER, JR. ON BEING COO~MISSIONED ENSIGN UNITED STATES
~ .NAVY UPON GRADUATION FROM ANNAPOLIS
WHEREAS, JOHN THOMAS GARDNER, JR., of South San Francisco, California,
has distinguished himself and brought credit to this City by successfully complet-
ing his courses of study at Annapolis and being commissioned Ensign United States
Navy, and
WHEREAS, this qualification for high responsibility in the Naval Service
of the Nation serves the members of this community as well as all Americans who
treasure the protection of freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution and Laws, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco desires to
commend and congratulate him on his achievement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco does hereby commend and congratulate JOHN THOMAS GARDNER, JR., for
successfully completing his courses of study at Annapolis and being commissioned
Ensign in the United States Navy.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of May, 1958, by the following
vote:
AYES, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, .Andrew Rocca, Leo J. Ryan and Patrick E. Ahern
NOES, None
ABSENT, Councilman Emilio Cortesi
