RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO MODIFY THE ACQUISITIONS OR
IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE WITH RESPECT TO PARKING
DISTRICT NO. 1 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, on the 19th day
of August, 1957, passed its Resolution No. 2512 making changes and modifications in the
acquisitions or improvements to be made in proposed Parking District No. i of the City
of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, on the 3rd day
of September, 1957, passed.its Ordinance No. 418 entitled, "Ordinance Declaring the For-
mation of Parking District No. I of the City of South San Francisco as Amended, Describ-
ing the Properties to be Acquired, the Work to be Done, the Boundaries Thereof, Determining
the Maximum Rate of Ad Valorem Assessments and Directing that Options or Contracts be
Obtained or that Condemnation Proceedings be Instituted for the Acquisition of the Lands
to be Acquired for said Parking District No. 1";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco as follows:
The public interest, convenience and necessity require that the acquisitions
and improvements proposed to be made under Resolution No. 2464 of Intention to Form
Parking District No. 1, as modified by Resolution No. 2512, and as finally determined by
the above mentioned Ordinance No. 418 declaring the formation of Parking District No. 1,
should be modified as follows:
That, in'lieu of the off-street parking places proposed to be acquired by said
Resolution No. 2464, modified by said'Resolution No. 2512, and as finally ordained by
Ordinance No. 418 above described, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
hereby finds and determines that the public interest, convenience and necessity require
that there shall be acquired for off-street parking places the following pieces and
parcels of land lying and being in the City of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo,
State of California, to wit:
PARKING LOT 1: All of Lot 2 and the east 1/2 of Lot 3 in Block 139 as delineated and
set out on that certain map entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1",
which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1, 1892
in Book "B" of Original Maps at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.
PARKING LOT 2: All of Lots 9 and 10 in Block 140 as delineated and set out on that certain
map entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1", which map was filed
in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1, 1892 in Book "B'
of Original Maps at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.
PARKING LOT 3: All of Lot 18 in Block 125 as delineated and set out on that certain map
entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1", which map was filed in
the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1, 1892 in Book "B" of
the Original Maps at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.
PARKING LOT 4: All of Lots 19 and 20 in Block 140 as delineated and set out on that cer-
tain map entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1", which map was
filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1, 1892 in Book
"B" of Original Maps at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.
PARKING LOT 5: All of Lots 5 and 6 in Block 124 as delineated and set out on that certain
map entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1", which map was filed
in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1, 1892 in Book "B" of
Original Maps at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.

PARKING LOT 6: All of Lots 5 and 6 in Block 126 as~.deli~eated and set out on that
certain map entitled "South San Francisco, San Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1", which
map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1,
1892 in Book "B' of Original Maps at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.
.PARKING LOT 7: All of Lots 12 and 13 in Block 126 as delineated and set out on that certain

PUBLIC WAY 1: The easterly 25 feet of Lot 23 in Block 124 as delineated and set out
on that certain ma.p entitled *'South San Francisco,~ San. Mateo Co., Cal., Plat No. 1",
which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of San Marco County on March 1,
1892 in Book "B" of Original Maps at page 6 and aopied~,into Book 2 of Maps at page 52.
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of South San Fran-
cisco does hereby find that it has received evidence of the public necessity of the
above described proposed acquisitions and does hereby find that the property herein-
above proposed to be acquired and used for off-street parking is necessary therefor,
and does hereby find that the proposed acquisitions and the improvements to be con-
structed thereon are planned and located in the manner which will be most compatible
with the most public good and the least private injury; and the said City Council
does hereby find and determine that there is public need for off-street parking facil-
ities in the City of South San Francisco and need to acquire the hereinabove described
properties for such purposes. Said City Council does hereby also find that the pro-
posed district covers the contiguous area within the City of South San Francisco
which needs off-street parking facilities, and does hereby find that all property
within the proposed district will be benefited thereby. Said City Council does hereby
also find that the proposed acquisitions and improvements thereon are located and de-
signed in the manner which is most compatible with the most public good and the least
private injury. All of said prope~ties are hereby found to be in the heart of the
business area of South San Francisco, where such off-street parking facilities are
needed; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a portion of PARKING LOT 3, and more particularly
described as follows:
All of Lot 19 in Block 125 as delineated and set out on that certain map entitled "South
San Francisco, San Marco Co., Cal., Plat No. 1", which map was filed in the office of
the County Recorder of San Mateo County on March 1, 1892~ Book "B" of Original Maps
at page 6 and copied into Book 2 of Maps at page 52,
mentioned and described ~ Resolution of Intention No. 2464, Resolution Making Changes
No. 2512, and Ordinance No. 418 Declaring the Formation.,of Parking District.No.. 1, is
hereby eliminated from this proceeding, and said parcel so eliminated from this pro-
ceeding shall not be either acquired or improved; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in accordance with the requirements of Section
35269 of the Streets and Highways Code, J. E. PECK, as the herein duly appointed Special
Assistant to the City Engineer and Director of Public Works of the City of South San
Francisco is hereby directed to prepare and file with the City Clerk prior to the date
fixed herein for hearing protests, a supplemental report showing the effects of this
Resolution of Intention to Make Changes upon the estimates and other information given
in his original report filed with the City Clerk'on November 7, 1955, and as amended by
his report filed with said City Clerk on the 20th day of February, 1956, and as amended
by his report filed with said City Clerk on the 19th day of August, 1957.
Monday, the 18th day of May, 1959, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m. of
said day, at the meeting~place of the City Council of the City of South
San..Francisco, 10cated in the City Hall, SoUth. San Francisco, CalifOrnia,~ is.
hereby fixed as the time and place for hearing objections to the changes herein Proposed.
Written objections to any proposed change may be filed with the City Clerk of the City
of South San Francisco by any interested person at any time prior to the hour set for
said hearing.
The City Clerk of the City of South San Francisco is hereby directed to give
notice of this Resolution of Intention to Modify by two insertions hereof in the South
San Francisco Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper of general circulation printed and pub-
lished in the City of South San Francisco, the first publication of which shall be not
less than twenty (20) days prior to the da~e herein fixed for hearing. Said City Clerk
shall also, not less than twenty (20) days prior to the date herein fixed for hearing,
mail a copy of this Resolution of Intention, postage thereon prepaid, to each person to
whom real property in the proposed district is assessed, as shown on the last equalized
assessment ro11, at his address as shown upon the roll,,and to each person, whether
owner in fee or having a lien upon or legal or equitable interest in any real property
within the district, whose name and address and a designation of the real property in
which he is interested is on file in the office of the City Clerk.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regu-
larly adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, San
Mateo County, California, at a regular~meeting thereof, held on the 6th day
of April, 1959, by the following vote, to wit:
