A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS PONDEROSA ROAD
IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, California, that
~IEREAS, the said Council did, on the 8th day of September, 1959, adopt its Resolution of
Intention No. 2876 to order the grading, removal of trees, bushes and existing structures, and the
construction of pavement, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, storm drainage facilities and sanitary sewer
mains and appurtenances in said City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said
Resolution of Intention, as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish once a week for
two weeks in the Enterprise Journal, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice
inviting sealed proposals or' bids for the construction of Said improvements, and referring to the plans
and specifications on file in the office of said City Clerk, the first of which publications shall be
at least fourteen days prior to the time fixed for opening bids.
ALL proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the
order of the City amounting to ten per cent of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said
City signed by the bidder and corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall Justify be-
fore any officer comoetent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory
exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the
bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has
been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the City.
Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of this City on or before
8:00 o'clock P.M. on the 7th day of December, 1959, said time being not less than fourteen days from
the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared
on said day and hour.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted
by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this 2nd day of ~
November, 1959, by the following vote:
