A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF 'SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO GRANTING A
SPUR TRACK PERMIT TO THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC
COMPANY ON SOUTH MAPLE AVENUE
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, has applied for a permit
to construct and operate a spur track in the location hereinafter designated, and
WHEREAS, the City of. South San Francisco desires to issue said permit on
the conditions hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South
San Francisco that the Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, be, and it is hereby,
permitted to construct and operate a spur track as hereinafter designated upon the
followingconditions:
Conditions:
1. That the trackage will be constructed as nearly as possible level
with the street grading.
That the permittee, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, shall
maintain and keep in repair the trackage and street crossings by
said trackage extending two (2) feet each side of said trackage.

That in the event said trackage is abandoned and no longer required
for service, permittee shall remove the trackage, or cause it to
be removed, at its own expense, and at no cost to the City of South
San Francisco, and shall restore the surface of the street and the
bed in accordance with specifications of the City of South San
Francisco.

That permittee, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, shall hold
City harmless from any claims, suits or demands arising out of
personal injury or property damage caused by construction, operation,
maintenance, repair, or condition of said trackage and area con-
tained between lines two (2) feet on each side of said trackage,
and shall further defend any and all suits, claims, or demands
brought because of personal injury or property damage.
That permittee, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, shall
install, maintain and operate sufficient safety signals, or other
precautions, required to keep said crossing safe for the public to
travel over and across; and should the original installation of
erossing signals prove inadequate because of increased traffic or
because of other matters, permittee shall modify or install safety
precautions or Signals adequate to meet said increase in traffic or
other matters. That' the original installation shall be Standard
No. 1 (A) reflectorized crossing signs.

This trackage shall be used as industrial trackage and not as a
main line or any portion thereof.
B. Location:
Spur track is located across South Maple Avenue in the City of South
San F~ancisco, said trackage is more particularly described as follows:
Beginnfng at the intersection of the centerline
of existing Southern Pacific Company drill track,
California Public Utilities Commission No. EM-13.47-C,
and the westerly line of South Maple Avenue, said
point of intersection being 1177 feet, more or less,
measured in a southwesterly direction from the inter-
section of said westerly line of South Maple Avenue
with the southerly line of Victory Avenue; thence
in a northeasterly direction, across South Maple
Avenue, through a No. 9 turnout, for a distance of
60 feet, more or less, to the easterly line of South
Maple AvenUe; thence continuing into private property.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly intro-
duced and adopted by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco
at a regular meeting held this 4th day of April, 1960, by the following
