A RESoLuTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO GRANTING A SPUR TRACK PERMIT
TO THE SOUTI~ERN PACIFIC COMPANY ON UTAH AVENUE
WHEREAS, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, has applied for a per, it
to construct and operate a spur track in the location hereinafter designated, and
WHEREAS, the City of South San Francisco desires to issue said per~it on
the conditions hereinafter stated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Franctsoo that the Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, be, and it is hereby, per-
mitred to construct and operate a spur track as hereinafter designated.upon the fol-
lowing conditions:
A. Conditions:

That the trackage will be constructed as nearly as possible level
with the street grading.
That the pelmittee, Southern Pacific Company, a corPoration, shall
maintain and keep in repair the trackage and street crossings by
said trackage extending two (2) feet each side of said trackage.

That in the event said trackage is abandoned and no longer required
for-service, per~ittee shall remove the trackage, or cause it to
be ~e~oved, as its own expense, and at no cost to the City of South
San Francisco, and shall restore the surface of the street and the
bed in accordance with specifications of the City of South San Fran-
cisco.
That per~ittee, Southern Pacific Cmapany, a corporation, shall hold
City harmless from any claims, suits or de~ands arising out of per-
Sonal injury or property damage caused by construction, operation,
maintenance, repair, or condition of said trackage and area con-
tained between lines two (2) feet on each side of said trackage,
and shall further defend any and all suits, claims, or demands brought
because of personal injury or property damage.
That permittee, Southern Pacific Company, a corporation, shall install,
maintain and operate sufficient safety signals, or other precautions,
required to keep said crossing safe for the public to travel over and
across; and should the original installation of crossing signals prove
inadequate because of increased traffic or because of other matters,
perlaittee shall modify or install safety precautions or signals ade-
quate to meet said increase in traffic or other matters. That the
original installation shall be Standard No. 1 (A) reflectorized cross-
ing signs.

This trackage shall be used as industrial trackage and not as a main
line or any portion thereof.
B. Location:
Spur. track is located across Utah Avenue in South San Francisco Indus-
trial Park in the City of South San Francisco, said trackage is more
particularly described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the north-
easterly line of Utah Avenue distant 377
feet, more or less, northeasterly thereon
from the intersection thereof with the
northeasterly line of Harbor Way, thence
southeasterly across said Utah Avenue 84
feet more or less, to a point in the
southeasterly line of said Utah Avenue;
thence southeasterly on into private
property.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly
introduced and adopted by the City Council at a regular ~eeting held
this 4th day of Apr!l, 1960, by the following vote:
