A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY CouNCILOF THE CITY OF SOUTH
SAN FRANCISCO CONSENTING TO THE COMMENCEMENT OF
PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN INHABITED
TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS TREASURE ISLAND
WHEREAS, on May 20, 1960, a petition for the annexation of 15.935 acres, more
or less, occupied by Treasure Island Trailer Court, and others, and called Treasure
Island, was filed with the City~Clerk of ihe Ci'ty of South san Francisco and was pre-
sented to the City Council of the City of South San Francisco requesting the Council to
give its consent to the commencement of annexation proceedings in canne~ion with that
certain inhabited territory therein referred to and generally described which is con-
tiguous to the City of South San Franc~co, and
WHEREAS, said petition was referred to the Planning Commission of the
of South San Francisco for investigation, report and recommendation on 'the 23rd day of
May 1960 and forty (40) days having passed and said Planning Commission having not
filed a report and recommendation with the City Council as provided in Section 35108
of the Government Code and said City Council desires to proceed in accordance with
Section 35109 of the Government Code, and
~HEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to give its consent to the com-
mencement of such annexation p~oceedings upon condition that the eleetors within said
territory be informed at the time the petition for annexation is circulated that the
question to be submitted to said electors shall be whether the territory shall be an-
nexed and that property in the territory subjected to taxation after annexation equally
with the property within the City of 'South San Franc~co to pay the entire bonded in-
debtedness of the City of South San Frdncisco outstanding or authorized at the date of
the first publication of the notice of election, for the acquisition, construction or
completion of municipal improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San
Francisco:
1. That consent be and hereby is granted for the commencement of annexation
proceedings in connection with said inhabited territory in accordance with the Anaex-
ation Act of 1913, provided the petition for annexation contains a request that the
question to be submitted to the electors residing in the territory p~eposed to be annexed
shall be whether the territory shall be annexed, and the property in the territory sub-
jected to taxation after annexation equally with property within the City of South San
Francisco to pay the bonded indebtedness of the City of South San Francisco outstanding
or authorized at the date of the first publication of the notice of election for the
acquisition, construction or completion of municipal improvements.

2. That said unincorporated territory be and hereby is designated~as
Treasure Island and is de~cribed as fellows:
BEGINNING at a 3/4" ir®n pipe monument set in the Eastern line of the
State Highway at the most southern, corner of that certain 2.01 acre
tract as oenveyed to M. Whelen by deed recorded February 18, 1905,
in Book 115 of Deeds at page 374, Records of San Mateo Count[; thence
along the Southeastern line of said 2'.01 acre tract North 49v 48' 20"
East 409.48 feet to a 3/4" iron pipe monument set in the Western line
of the Market Street Railway Company right of way; thence along said
right of way line South 29° 17' East 665.80 feet; and thence along the
arc of a curve to the left having a radius of 2954.93 feet and a central
angle of 10 12' 10' for a distance of 526.19 feet to the Northwestern
line of that certain 62.52 acre tract as conveyed to Frank Lagomarsino
by deed recorded November 19, 1914, in Book '~35 of Deeds at page 452;
thence alOng said Northwestern line South 44' 51' 2~' West 753.36 feet
to a 3/4" iron pipe monument set in the Eastern line of t~e State High-
way; thence along said Eastern line as follows: North 41 33' West
203.70 feet; along the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of
467 feet and ~ central angle of 51 14' 45" for a distance of ~17.69
feet; North 9v 41' 45" East I79.51 feet; along the arc of a curve to
the left having a radius of 633 feet and a central angle of 53 55' 15"
for a distance of 595.71 feet and North 44° 13' 30" West 25..40 feet to
the point of beginning. Containing 15.935 acres, more or less.
3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resOlution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted by the City Council ofthe City of South San Francisco at a regular
meting held this 18th day of July, 1960, by the following vote-:
