THE REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
REGULAR MEETING
May 13, 1987
TIME: 7:00 p.m.
PLACE: Community Room, Municipal Services Building, 33 Arroyo Drive
South San Francisco, California.
CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Mark N. Addiego called the Redevelopment Agency
meeting to order at 7:38 p.m.
ROLL CALL: Present: Chairman Mark N. Addiego; Vice Chairman Jack
Drago; Member Richard A. Haffey, Member Gus
Nicolopulos; Member Roberta Teglia
Also Present: Executive Director C. Walter Birkelo; Deputy
Executive Director Mark Lewis; City Attorney

~-ENDA Executive Director Birkelo stated that Item No. 7, consid-
~ 'IEW: eration of proposed South Airport Boulevard Redevelopment
Project, will be continued to the next agenda. He informed
the Board that information he thought might be available was
not yet ready. Additional information will be sent before
the next meeting.
APPROVAL OF Member Nicolopulos motioned, seconded by Member Haffey
BILLS: that claims as submitted for payment in the amount of
$11,815.22 for May 13, 1987, be approved. The motion
as made and seconded was regularly carried.
APPROVAL OF It was motioned by Member Haffey and seconded by Member
MINUTES: Teglia that the minutes of the Adjourned Meeting of April
16, 1987, and Regular Meeting of April 8, 1987, be approved.
The motion as made and seconded was unanimously carried.
RESOLUTION Senior Planner, Dan Christians advised the Board that, on
AUTHORIZING April 8, 1987, the Agency approved an agreement acquiring

MENT OF SENIOR to the South San Francisco Magnolia Plaza Associates for the
CENTER HOUSING construction of 125 unit senior citizens apartment project
AT MAGNOLIA in accordance with UP-87-762. On April 21, 1987, escrow
S----OOL SITE: closed and the Agency became owner of the property. The
land lease describes the various terms and conditions that
will govern the use of the property by Magnolia Plaza
Associates. The terms of the lease will run for 75 years,
at which time all buildings and improvements will be owned
by the Agency. The lessee will maintain the buildings, pay
any taxes, provide insurance and make lease payments which
will total $3,513.006.
After discussion, it was motioned by Member Haffey and
seconded by Member Teglia that the resolution be adopted.
The motion as made and seconded was unanimously carried.
The resolution is entitled: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
LEASE OF PROPERTY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF SENIOR CITIZEN
HOUSING AT THE MAGNOLIA SCHOOL SITE."
RESOLUTION Deputy City Manager/City Engineer, Bob Yee, stated that
AUTHORIZING this item is related to the Parcel Map. This parcel will

(MAGNOLIA It was motioned by Member Teglia and seconded by Member
SCHOOL SITE): Haffey that the resolution be adopted. The motion as made
and seconded was unanimously carried. The resolution is
entitled: "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARCELIZATION OF AGENCY
OWNED PROPERTY CONSISTING OF 14 PARCELS AND A PORTION OF
THIRD LANE CONTAINING 2.192 ACRES LOCATED BETWEEN GRAND AND
BADEN AVENUES WEST OF MAGNOLIA AVE. (MAGNOLIA SCHOOL SITE).

GOOD & WELFARE: Chair Addiego invited members of the public to speak on
redevelopment related issues. No one spoke.
ADJOURNMENT: It was motioned by Member Teglia and seconded by Member
Haffey that the Redevelopment Agency Meeting be adjourned.
The motion as made and seconded was unanimously carried.
