A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO
SETTING A SPECIAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did, on April 3, 1961, adopt
Ordinance No. 460 which is entitled "An Ordinance Approving the Annexation of Certain Uninhabited
Territory Designated "Callan Park" to the City of South San Francisco", a copy of which is attached
hereto, hereby referred to and incorporated herein with the same force and effect as though set forth
in full herein; and
WHEP~EAS, thereafter and within thirty (30) days from such date of adoption of said
ordinance, a petition w~s filed with the City Clerk of this City of South San Francisco protesting
against the adoption of said ordinance; and
WHEREAS, the said City Clerk thereupon examined the said petition within ten (10) days
after such filing and thereafter attached to such petition his certificate, and at the next
regular meeting of this City Council reported that said petition was signed by not less than ten
per cent (lO~) of the voters of said City of South San Francisco; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of South San Francisco that Ordinance
No. 460 entitled "An Ordinance Approving the Annexation of Certain Uninhabited Territory Designated
"Callan Park" to the City of South San Francisco", be submitted to the voters of the City of South
San Francisco at a special election called for that purpose.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT REVOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
a special municipal election be and the same is hereby called for and shall be held on Tuesday,
August 8, 1961, and
RESOLVED, further, that the measure submitted to the voters of South San Francisco at
such election shall be:

of South San Francisco of the property known as "Callan Park
Annexation" be approved?

RESOLVED, further, that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
give such notices, cause the same to be published, and take such action as may be required by law
in order that said election herein called may be duly and regularly held and conducted; and
RESOLVED, further, that the polls shall remain open for said special election from
7 o'clock A.M. to 7 o'clock P.M. of said day of the election.
RESOLVED, further, that said City Clerk be and he is hereby directed to cause a sufficient
number of copies of said Ordinance No. 460 to be printed in full and further, that he shall cause a
copy of said ordinance to be mailed to each voter of South San Francisco, together with a sample
ballot in the manner and form required by law, prior to the election, together with written argu-
ments for and against approval of the ordinance if same are submitted as provided by law.
I hereby certify-the foregoing to be a true copy of a Resolution adopted by the
City Council of South San Francisco, California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the
15th day of May, 1961, by the following vote of the members thereof:
Ayes, and in favor thereof, Councilmen G. J. Rozzi, Patrick E. Ahern, Emilio Cortesi,
Andrew Rocca, and Leo J. Ryan.
Noes, Councilmen: None.
