A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AUTHORIZING
ADVERTISING FOR BIDS FOR STREET SWEEPER
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco, Califor-
nia, that
WHEREAS, the'Purchasing Officer has submitted specifications for the pur-
chase of a street sweeper entitled "City of South San Francisco Specifications For
Self-Propelled Mechanical 3-Cubic Yard Street Sweeper", and
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that
1. The specifications for the purchase of a street sweeper entitled,
"City of South San Francisco Specifications For Self-Propelled Mechanical 3-Cubic
Yard Street Sweeper" are hereby approved and said specifications are referred to
and by this reference made a part hereof, the same as if recited herein verbatim.
2. The City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish by two (2)
consecutive insertions iu the Enterprise-Journal, a newspaper published and circu-
lated iu said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals referring to the specifica-
tions on file in the Office of the City Clerk, the first of which publication shall
be at least ten (10) days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. A copy of said
notice entitled, "Notice to Bidders", is attached hereto and referred to and by this
reference made a part hereof as if set forth werbatim herein.
All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's, or certified
check payable to the order of the City of South San Francisco, in au amount equal
to not less than ten per cent '(10%) of the bid figure, or by a bond iu said amount
drawn iu favor of said City and executed by a corporate surety. Said check shall
be forfeited by bidder, or said bond shall become payable to said City iu case the
lowest responsible bidder (or bidders) depositing the same does not execute the
contract within ten (10) days after notice of award of contract has been mailed,
unless City is responsible for the delay. Faithful performance of the contract
shall be by au undertaking in ten per cent (10%) of the sum bid, said undertaking
beiu~ that of a corporate surety satisfactory to the Purchasing Officer.

3. Bids will be received by the City of South San Francisco, California,
at the Office of the Purchasing Officer of said City, City Hall, Grand Avenue,
South San Francisco, California, at or before the hour of lO:O0 a.m. on Thursday,
the 30th day of November, lg61, said time not being less than ~ten (10) days from
the first publication of notice, the bids will be publicly opened, examined and
declared at said time and place and award will thereafter be made by the City
Council of said City to the lowest responsible bidder or bidders, subject however
to the right of said City Council to reject any and all bids, which riEht is hereby
reserved.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held ou the
2nd day of October, 1961, by the following vote:
