A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ORDERING REMOVAL OF WEEDS FRO~
PARCELS OF PRIVATE PROPERTY AND PUBLIC PLACES
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of South San Francisco did on the 21st day of May, 1962,
adopt its Resolution No. 3479, in which said City Council determined that weeds which will attain such
a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry were growing upon private property in said City, and
declared that said weeds must be removed from the public streets, sidewalks and vacant and unimproved
property in the City of South San Francisco as described by lot and block number in Appendix "A" to
this resolution, which is hereby referred to and made part of this resolution by satd reference as if
set forth herein verbatim, and that the cost and expense of such removal shall be assessed upon all lots
of land upon which such weeds exist and, in said resolution, fixed Monday, the 4th day of June, 1962,
at the hour of 8 o'clock P.M. and the Council Chamber in the City Hall of said City, as the time and
place when and where all persons having any objections to the proposed removal of said weeds could appear
before said City Council and show cause why the work of the proposed removal of weeds should not be
carried out, and
WHEREAS, no person protested or opposed the removal of said weeds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of South San Francisco that
the Director of Public Works, as ex-officio Superintendent of Streets, abate the nuisance caused hy
said weeds hy having them removed. Said Director of Public Works is hereby directed to keep an account

of the cost and expense of abating the nuisance upon each separate lot or parcel of land where the work
of removing said weeds may he done, and to render an itemized report in writing to said City Council,
showing the cost and expense of removing said weeds. Before such report is submitted to said City Coun-
cil, said Director of Public Works shall cause a copy thereof to he posted on or near the chamber door
of said City Council, together with a notice of filing the same, and of the time and place when and
where any perSons interested in the work of removal of said weeds will he heard hy said City Council,
which copy of said report shall he so posted for not less than ten (10) days prior to the time when said
report may he submitted to said City Council.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced
and adopted hy the City Council of the City of South San Francisco at a regular
meeting held this 2nd day of July, 1962, hy the following vote.
