A RESOLUTION GRANTING CONSENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO TO THE EXERCISE OF EXTRA-TERRITORIAL JURIS-
DICTION TO UNDERTAKE PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ACQUISITION AND CONSTRUC-
TION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND TO PROVIDE THAT THE COSTS SHALL BE
ASSESSED UPON THE DISTRICT BENEFITED, UNDER APPROPRIATE SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT AND ASSESSMENT BOND ACTS --

that
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of SoUth San Francisco, California,
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo has filed with
this Council a certified copy of its Resolution requestin~ consent of this Council to
undertake appropriate special assessment and assessment bond proceedings for the ac-
quisition and construction of public improvements and to assess the cost thereof on
the lands described in said Resolution;
WHEREAS, there has been filed with this Council a copy of the form of Reso-
lution of Preliminary Determination and of Intention to be used in said proceedings;

WHEREAS, a portion of said acquisitions and improvements to be made are within
the incorporated territory of this City and a portion of the lands to be assessed to pay
the costs and expenses thereof is incorporated territory within said City;
WHEREAS, said acquisitions and improvements to be made are of such a character
that they will directly and peculiarly affect property not only within the boundaries
of the City of South San Francisco but also the unincorporated territory within San
Mateo County, and the purposes souyht to be accomplished can best be accomplished by
a single comprehensive scheme of work;
WHEREAS, the public interest, convenience and necessity will be served by the
makin~ of said acquisitions and improvements and the Ievying of said assessments;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
1. That consent be, and the same is hereby, granted to the County of San
Mateo to acquire and construct said public improvements as described in the Resolution
Requesting Consent, and to make such changes and modifications therein as may be proper
or advisable in the manner provided by law.
2. That consent be, and the same is hereby, granted to said County to open
all such public streets as are required for the installation of said public improve-
ments. Ail work pertaining to said project shall be done under the direction and to
the satisfaction of the County Engineer of said County and insofar as work in said
project lies within the incorporated area in the City of South San Francisco, to the
satisfaction of the Director of Public Works of said City, and in conformity with good
engineering practice. Said County Engineer shall require of the contractor that all
of the provisions of the specifications are complied w'th by the contractor, to the
end that no greater amount of ditches are open at any time than is necessary, that
they shall be adequately lighted and barricaded, and that they shall be promptly back-
filled, and that the pavement shall be restored with materials of like quality and
character as those existing therein at the time of such work and to its former condi-
tion and state of usefulness as nearly as may be.
3. That the Director of Public Works of this City be, and he is hereby,
authorized and directed to carry out the provisions of this Resolution.
4. That the form of Resolution of Preliminary Determination and of Inten-
tion submitted to this Council be, and the same is hereby, approved.
5. That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, directed to file with the
County Clerk of San Mateo County a certified copy of this Resolution.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the
City of South San Francisco at a regular meeting held this
6th day of August, 1962, by the following vote:
