held 2~onday April,5, 1915.
This meeting was called to order at 8' 0 ~lock P.H.; by Trustee
G.W. Holston "~resident of the Board"
Roll-call
Roll call found the following Trustees present, to wit;
P.A. Cunningham, George H, Wallace and G.W. Holston.
Trustees ~,~c GoVern ahd Kelley appeared after roll call.
The minutes of the previous meeting were eead anfd upon motion of Trustee W~llade seconded
by Trustee Cunningham and regularly carried were approved as read.
An application for a Class A" Liquor License was received from Joe Viers to be conducted
at ~224 Grand Avenue said place being conducted at present by A Costa, and gcec~paning
the said application was the surrender of the license held by ACosta at the number stated
above and also accompaning the application was a bond in the penal sum of One Thousand
Dollars in favor of the City of South San ~rancisco,as provided by Ordinance F59 of the
said City for the faithful compliance with the said Ordinance by the applicant ,and the
applicant having complied in all respects witht the provisions of the said ordinance
he was granted a permit for a Class A" license for the balance of the fiscal year ending
June 30th. 1915.
A petition f~~$r signed by f~z,n~asking that the road running
from ~rand Avehue to the Mission Road be put in passable condition ,was ~eceived by the
~$~{~a~{yT~~,a~eUpOn motiOn of Trustee rallace seconded by Trustees Cunntnghan ,h&
Supt of streets was ordered to have the work done.
An application for an extention of ninety days on his contract for repairing
Railroad Avenue was received from Chas. J. Lindgren.
The following resolute, on ~amcerning this application was introdu=ed by
Trustee Mc G0ve~n ·
Resolved b~ eh Board o~f Trustees of the City of South San ~%ancisco
that Chas. J. Lindgren be, and he hereby is granted thirty days additional time in which
to complete his contract for the improvment of Railroad Avenue ,~on condition that the
sureties upon his bond consent to such extention.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regul~rly introduced and adopts
by the Board of Trustees of the City of South S n Francisco,this ~th, day of April 191§

Acommunication was received from the Peninsular L~nd and Investment ~Co. asklng~.~a~th~
Board of Trustees start~pr proceedings under some of the local improvment acts for a
~ewer system and street improvments on their property.
The matter was referred to the City Engineer to ascertain cos~ Etc.
A communication from the Pac. G~s ~ Electric Co. reported that l~ street lights
recently ordered by the City Trustees would be installed at Once.
Communication ordered '~iled.
A comuunication was received fro~ Chas N Black V.P. So. S.2. Railway and Power Company
in response to a complaint by the City Clerk in connection with the ru ning of ~lat wheel
~ars in the City of South S~n Francisco,saying that at times this could not be avoided.
The cor~nunication was ordered placed on file.

recently ordered by the City Trustees would be installed at once.

A communication was received from Chas~' Black V.P. So. S.~.~ Railway and Power Company
in reaponse to a complaint by the City Clerk in connection with the ru ning of ~lat wheel
~ars in the City of South San Francisco,saying that at times this could not be avoided.
The communication was ordered placed on file.
A communication and copy of a notice of application for the oi_~ening of a street in
R.R. crossing in the City of San Bruno ,was received from the Railroad Commission of the
State of C~l_t fo
both were ordered placed on file.
The following resolution was then introduced by Trustee Kelley.
Resblved by the Board of T~zstees o g the City of South San ~rancisco,th at the offer
of the Western Rock and sand C~mpany to which reference is hereby made ,to pay said Ctt
of South San Francisco Two Hundred (200.$~ollars for the privelage of taking sand as
said western Sand and rock Co. may require from Chestnut Avenue extention and from Rail
road Avenue for one year be and the same is hereby accepted ,and that ~he said Western
sand and rock company be granted an option Smr further continueing this arrangment
for the period of five years next following thereafter,upon the yearly payment of the sum
of two hundred {200) dollars.

A communication was received from Richard Harder asking that the Board condemn two
sheds on lots lland 12 in Block 147 corner ~liller and San /Bruno Road which were being
used by tramps ,fo: a shelter.
The Clerk was instructed to request the owner to remove them as an act of public sa
safety .
The reports of City Officers for the month of March 1915,were then read the
report of the City Clerk showed the following balances.
General F~md $2,350.52, Sewer Fund $5.00, Sinking ~hmd,$2,941.58,Library ~hmd $652.72,
Crand Avenue extention ~-hznd $1,864.91,Storm sewer fund ~1-796.23 .
The report of the Marshal and Treasurer checked with that of tLe City Clerk
The report of the City Recorder shawed that the sum of Ten Dollars had been collected
through his office dur~mg the month of Harch,1915,for which he emclosed.check
A~# A co~mun ication was received from W.J Tobin of Oakland asking that the balance of
the price for the construction of storm sewer ~1 be forwarded to him,the required number
of d~yshaving alapsed when the balance should be paid.
The City Clerk was authori~ed to ascertain tho amount and pay the same.
The following demands against the City were presented for payment the same having been
approved by the finance committee.

and warrants drawh for the various amounts.

~i~o~,s F. Delury representing the Pac. 7~el:i~:&T~t~'i:~'.i.c :o. appeared before the Board
and discussed the matter of a Franchise for his company ,the Board asked that the company
present a formal application in writein~ ·
Moved by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Wallace that the Board adjourn
until ~{onday April 12, 1915,to meet at ~f310 Linden Avenue at 8 ' 0 clock P,M.
