Sresident of The Board, at 8:00 p.m.
Roll call found the following TrusteeS present to wit: M, ~. He~l~, G. W. HoUston ~nd J. H.
Kelley.
Absent Trustees ~. A. C~nningham, znd G. H. Wallace.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read ~nd upon motion of Trustee~Hols$~n
seconded by Trustee Healy End regularly carried were approved zs read.
An application for a Cl~ss~A Liqdor Z~cense for the northwest cornbr~of Stand
Avenue and S~n Bruno Ro~d was presented by P. Lera and 0. Bi~nchini ~nd z. ccom~,&nying the s~id
~pplication w~s a bon~ in the pencl sum of One thousand ($1,000) Dollars for the f~ithful
compliance of 0'rdin~nce No. 59 of the City of South San Francisco. The ~pplicsnts having
com?~ied in al~ re~iects w~re ~ranted ~ permit for ~e balance of the ter~ ending Dec.~Z1,
A petit~on w~s received from the Pac. Coast Steel Company asking that theirni~ht
and day watchman bo deputized as officers to stop'petty theiving at their planS. Upon motion
of Trustee Haply seconded by Trustee HoUston the m~tter was lzid over until a full membership
~f the Board.
~ 'A communication wa~ roceived from the Carneigie Corporation of New York asking that
pho{6-graphs be t~ken showing front Iud side elev&tions of the Libr&ry together with m complete
set of floor pl&ns on a reduced scale be sent them.
The City Clerk was instructod to write the archetic~ of the building and ask tha. t
this be proportioned by him.
Th~ report of Wm. J. Kidd public ~ccountant on the auditing of the City Books was
was received ~Lnd ordered placard on file.
A com]~laint wes received from Wm. Hyland on the condition of the Storm Sewers being
blocked with rubbish and unfit for use. The complaint was referred to the City Engineer.
The report of City Officers for the' month of September were then read. The

The report of th~ City Recorder wes received showing that the sum of 27.25 h~d been
collected through his office for the month ~f Septer~ber for which he enclosed check.
Moved by Trustee Hsaly seconded by Trustee Hol~ton ahd regularly carried thzt the
reports of the City Officers ~eceive~"a$.this meeting be accepted,
Upon re?ul~tions of 0'Rourke snd Brady for a s~ttlement of ~60.~7 b~l ~nce due them
on the Library building, they were ~llowed 2Z.7~. The sum of 36.64 being held to cover a
claim of F. W. ~oss & CO for lumber.
Moved by Trustee hesly Seconded by Trustee HoUston that the fire ~pparatus be ref-
~rre& to the purchasing committee with power to purchase what was absolutely necessary.

complied in all resI~ects were ~ranted ~ permit for ~e balance of the ter~ ending Dec. 3l, :

~f the Board.

erred to fha purchasing committee with power to ~urch~se what w~s ~bsolutely necessary.
Moved by Trustee He~ly seconded by Trustee HoRston that the pu~ic tele~hone
now installed in the home of the pound man be transferred to the ho~e of the Chief of the
Fire Department .

purchase the necessary street bonds for Magnolia Cypress and a portion of Lux Avenue.

Whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Frcncisco did, on ~he 4th d~.y of
September, 1916, direct the City Clerk of s~id City t~ publish a notice in the manner ~.nd form
quired~by law, invitin~ sealed proposals or bids to be filed v. ith s~id City Clerk up to the hour
of eight 08clock p.m. on Monday, the End d~y of October, 1916, for the purchase of bonds issued upon
the security of the unpaid assessments for doing said improvement work upon portions of Cypress
Avenue end Lux Avenue in szid City of South Ran Francisco, fully described in ~esolution of Intention
No. 19 ?zssed by the Board of Trustees of the City of 2outh San Frsncisconon the 30th d~y of
August, 1915, to which ~eference is hereby made; and
,Whereas said notice h~s been duly published in ~ll respects as required by law ss ~ppe~rs
from the affidavit of C. H. Woodm~n, now on file in the office of the City Clerk; and
Where~s no proposals or bids for said bonds have been received, and the time fixed in said
notice for receiveing such ?roposals or bids having expired; and
Whereas there now remains due to F. R. Ritchie & Company, the contractor by whom s~id
street improvement work was performed, the sum of Eighteen Hundred and Fifty-two 87/100 11852.87)
upon the assessments ~nd vsrr~nt issued by the Superintendent of streets of said City therefor;
Resolved by the ~osrd of Trustees of the City of South °an Francisco that thebonds horein-
befor~ referred to be, and the s~me hereby are awarded to s~id F. R. Ritchie ~ Comp~n~ in
satisfaction of said sum now due ~o s~id F. R. Ritohie ~ Con~,~ny upon the assessment ~nd warrant
issued by the ~u?erintendent of Streets of said City for said street improvement work, ~nd the
City Clerk is hereby authorized ~nd directed to delive~ said bonds to s~id F. R. Ritchie & Company
Said Bonds are fully described in ~ resolution of s~id Board of Trustees entitled entitled
"An order providing for the issuance of Street Improvement ~onds describin~ the denonin~tions of
"No. 19 passed ~bd adopted the 14th day of Sep. 1916
such bonds and the interest coupons ~ttached, ,
