HELD;~.~DNESDAY, M~AY, 9, 1917.
This meeting was cs!led to order at 8' -o clock p.m., by Trustee J.H. Kelley "PFesident d~he Board
Roll-ca~l found the fo~2owing Trustees, present, to wit;
~.A. Cunningham, Goo H. Wsllace and J.H. Kelley.
Absent Trustees ~i.F. He~ly and G.W. Holston.
The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting were dispensed with.
The following re~olution w~s introduced by Trustee Cunningh~m.
Whereas the free switching district provided by the Southern ~cific Company for the 0aklan
side of the Bay of San ~'ranci~co is more than twice as ~reat ~s that provided for the San Francisco
side of the B~y~ and
~'~nere~s s~id Southern Pscific Company i~poses a rate of 50 cents per ton within the teritory
in which the City of South S~n Francisco lies, while ~ rate of only twenty-five cents per ton is
required on the 0~kl~nd side of the B~:y for service of correspondi~ng extent and ch~rzcter;and
Where~s Oo~th T~n Francisco, ~s well ss the entire ~n Francisco Peninsula, is likely to suffer
immeasurable disadvantage if such discriminatory prsctice is continu ed;
Resolved by the ~oard of Trustees of the Cit~? of South S~n ~rancisco that saig Board hereby un-
reservedely condemns this unjust and outrageous discrimination;
Be it ~urther resolved that this Board oi' Trustees put forth every effort to aid in securing a
propper adjustment of freight rates and swithhing privelages about the B~Y of Sen Francisco.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and sdpSed by the Board
of Trustees of the CttF' of South San Francisco,on the 9th dzy of ~ay 191?, by the following vote:
Ayes Trustees F.A. C~nningham, Geo. H. Wsllace and J.H. Eelley.
Noes Trustees None .
Absent Trustees Healy and Holston.

The hearing of the alleged v~olation of the liquor ordinance by 0. Bianchinni ~hs haAz~n~J~fbwh~c
had been set for this meeting, was taken u~ at this time ,but there being o~ly three ~embers of the
Board present the matter was continued until Friday evening May ll, 1917.
M~ved by Trustee Wallace seconded by Trustee Cunningham that the Board adjourn until Friday ~iay,12,
to meet at 310 l~nden Avenue at 8 '~0 clock P.M.
