monday February Z, 1919. This meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock p.m. by Trustee
G. W. Halston President of the Board. Roll call found the following Trustees present to-
wit: A. J. Eschelbach, M. F. ~ealy, $.H. Ee~ley, an8 G. W. tiolston.
Absent Trustee F. A. Cunningham.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Kelley sec-
onded by Trustee Hes~ly and regularly carried were approved as read.
An application was received from the Order of Redmen for permission to hold an all
night dance on Feb. l~, 1919. L~oved by Trustee ;felley that the permission be granted, this
motion was duly seconded b,y Trustee E~chelbach and reg~alarly carried.
A petition was received fro~ the ?. G. & Elec. Co., to set po~e,~' on Pine ~venue as per
blue print $£~ R attached to said application. Upon motion of Trustee Eschelbach seconded
by Trustee ~ ~
· ~e~ley and ro~arl;,? carried t~;e matter was referred to the Public Utilities
C ommi ttee.
Upo~ application Willia~ J. Smith was granted permission to remove a tree overhanging
his ho~se in the alley near Magnolia ~venue.
An application was received from R. Tibbetts for permission to improve his building or.
Fsn ~runo Road, said ir;-provments to ~e as follows:
concrete floor, side and back wall brick and glass ~,nd the front Zo be stucco, with shingle
roof, to be used as a garage. I~,~oved by Trustee Healy seconded by Trustee Kelley that the
permission be granted. Motion Carried.
~. comrmnication was received fr:,m T. Ahern ir~ response to one from tls City Clerk,
requesting that the railroad crossings of the Southern Pacific Company be improved.
The communication stated that the matter be attended to at once.
A communication was received from M Detroff cor~p]aining a~.~out sewer ~verf~owing on 710

A communication v'a.~' received from H. B. Ty~on ~:~rotesting against s~wer being blocked by
roots of Eucalyptus tree and asking that the city ~ive re!eif from same. Moved by TrustSe
~iea]y seconded by Trustee Kelley and re~ar!y carried that the City Clerk be instructed to
communicate with i,ir. Tyscm, informing hlm ti,at it was not the duty of'theoCity tO clear sewer ia1
erals, that he must have work done at his own expense.
The Etreet Committee was empowered to remove ~. tree from ?arking place near T~.on house.
A communication w~:s received from L.L. Hursh protesting against the onndition of Butler
Road near the Edwards Wire Works· The City Clerk was instructed to inform I~[r. Hursh that the
City had no funds for that p~rpose at present, and saw no wa~vn to improve But]er Rd except by
assessing the abbuting pro,r, erty.
The reports of City Officers for the month of J~nuary were then read· The report of the
City Clerk showed the followir~g b~lances.

The report of the City Treasurer was alee received·
The re~ort of tl:e City Recorder showed tLat the ,~um of $285 had been collected thru
office during the, mont?: of January, for Which he enclosed check.

The report of the City Health Officer enclosed $48 received from sale of flu masks daring
the recer~t epi~l[emic.
Th e report of Chief of Yire Departr. mnt showed few small fires during month of January
with but slight damage.
~oved by Trustee Healy seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regul~,rly carried that the reports of
all City Officers received at this meeting be accepted and filed.
The following dem~nds against the City were rresented for payment the same having b:~en adp-
roved by the finance committee.
