Francisco,held Monday June ,23,1919.
This Meeting was called to order at 8 0' clock p.m.,by Trustee G.W. Holston

Roll-call
Roll c~ll fsund the following Trustees present,to-w~t;
F.A.Cmuningham, A.J. Eschelbach, M.F.Healy, J.tt. Kelley,and G.W. Holston.
The minutes of theprevious meeting were read an~ upon motion of Trustee Eschelbach seconded
by Trustee Cunningham and resularly carried,were approved as read.
A pe,ition was received from residents of Railroad Avenue between Spruce and Magnolia Ave.,
asking that Railroad Avenue between the above streets be paved.
The City Engineer was ordere~ to prepare plans end sPecifications for the improvment of the
streets above named and also to prepare plans an~ apecifications for the improvment of
Magnolia Avenue between Commercial Avenue and Railroad Avenu~ ,a nd the alley between ~dap~.e
and Spruce Avenues,lying between G~nd and Baden Avenues.
An application for ~ permit for a class "A" liquor license was recived fro~ John C. Rapp
b~t was. laid over until the liquor question would be settled by the U.S. Government.
A communication w~s received from the South S~n Francisco,l~ailroad & Power Company enclos-
ing a check in the sum of ~679.76 for the percentage of the gross receipts of the said Comp
any due the City of South San Francisco for one year under the provisions of ordinance ~66
o£ the City of S~uth S~n Francisco.
The check was accepted and the communication was ordered pls~ed on file.
A communication was received from th~ secretary of the State Board of Chareties and correct-
ions a~'king that the plans of the new City Hall be submitted to the State Board of Ch~raties
and cozrections before being adopted by the Board of Trustees,
The City Clerk w~s instructed to send t!~e communication to the firm of Cof~ey and Werner
architects employed by the City to drs~ plans for the City Hall,and to refer the State Board
of Charities and Corr~ction~ to the architects for a set of plans ~f the proposed City Hall.
The following resolution w~s then introduced by Trustee Healy.

Resolved by the Board of Trustee of the City of ?outh San Franciscothat that certain street
or avenue in sai~ City of South Sun ?ranciscohitherto known as Walker Aveneu,be, and the same
hereby is offflcially designated ss Swift Avenue.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the
Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh San Francisco,this 23rd. day of June ,1919,b~ the fol-

Whereas t~e salaries now paid to the teachers in the public schools in the County o~ San
are inadequate ;
Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that this Bo~rd app-
roves the endeavors now being made to obtain a uniform increase of twenty (20) Dollars per
month for the teachers of the County of San Mateo.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and aadopted by the

~t this time it was brought to the attention of the Board the fact that one of the Bouth San
~rsnciscoboys who hsd be~n inducted into the service of the Umited States during the war Manu~
Tobash by name had returned from France totally disabled,and that the Trustees should make
some effort toward establishing him in a business that in the future would support him.
'An~ w~h this end in view Trustee Kelley moved that the Chsirm~n of the Board appoint a
committee to find wsys to give e benefit for the said Manuel Tob~sh. The motion was secon~ ~
by Trustee-Cunn inghsm and regularly c~rried.
The chairman of the Bo~rd then appointed the entire Board to act on the commitee.
M~ved by Trustee Healy seconded by Trustee Cunningham that the Board adjourn until Monday
June 30~1919, to meet at #Z10 Linden Avenue at 8 O' clock p.m.
