"The~President of the Board of Trustees"~,~-TrU@tee:~W. Holston being absent from this mee~ing, it was moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Eschelbach that Trustee F.A. Cunningham,preside at this meeting of 'the Board. The duestion was put to the members present ~y the City Clerk and was regularly carried '~ P~i '~. - c ~11 Roll call found the following Trustees present to wit; F.A. Cunningh~m, A.J. Eschelb~ch, M.F. Hesly, J.H. Kelley Absent Trustee G.W. Holston, The minutes of ~he previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Eschelbach end re~larl~ carried were approved as~read. A petition was received £rom the Pac. Gas & Electric Company, asking permission to se~ poles as per blue print ~297 R.,attached to their petition. The matter was referred to the Street Committee with power to act. A communication was received from the Enterprise Foundry wherein they complained that bad boys had broken windows in their factory to the extent of One Hundred Dollara ,and asking that the City of South San Francisco reDair the damage. The City Clerk was instructed to notify the Enterprise Foundry Company,that the City would be ~hla~ to co-operate with ~hem in apprehending the perpetratora of the outrage,but could not see emr way clear to pey the expenseof the damage A~ the law ~dld not permit them to spend mon~ for that purpose. A communication was received from W.E. German ~ nurse who had attended E.C.~Page during his illness with the smallpox and for which he enclosed a bill in the sum of One Hundred forty Do~rs for services rendered the said E.C. Page. The City Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. Gorham that he had better present the bill to ~. Page for payment he being capable of paying his own bills . ~ petition was received from s number of property owners of the City asking that lights be placed in the following places,one on the corner of Commercial and Spruce Avenues, one on the corner og Railroad and Spruce ,one in center of block ~e~-Railroad Avenue between Spruce and ~agnolia Ave'~ and one on the corner of Railroad and Magnolia Avenues. The matter was referred to the street committee with power to act. An application to hold boxing contests in ~Ietro~olitan Hall South S~n Francisco was received fro~ ~oni~e ~ ~ and Carlson the first of the con~ests to place on July lOth,1919, and the other ~o,~.~ ~rom time to time as provided by ordinance for which they enclosed the regular fee of ~wez~y /~ Dollars. It was moved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee He~ly a~d regularly carried theft the permit be granted. A co~nunication was received fro~ t~e Chaober of CoN~erce of South S~n Francisco,~sking a donation of One Eundred seventeen Dollars for ~oney expended in boosting bond election . I~!oved by Trustee Xe~!ey seconded by Tr~stee Eschelbach that the Dollars be donate~ to the chamber of Commerce. sum of One hundred seventeen ~oti on carried A com~nicatio~ was received from the South San Francisco Land and Impr~vment Company wherein they asked for a refund of One and 62/100 Dollars of Cityn Taxes on ~'esterly one half oi lot 17 in b~ock 102.~nis lot having been sold to F.W.F. Brown on contract ~nd he being a veteran of Of the SDanish ~merican War the Board of Trustees a~lowed the refund ?o that iv~r. Brown would not have to ~ay the amount. ~4~ reports of City officers for the month oi' June were then re~%d,tf~e report of the ~ity Clerk showed the following balances. T~e report o~~ ~he Chief of t~e Fire Dept. showed damage to the extent of $30~0.oo caused by fire during the ~or~th of June Moved by Trustee Healy seconded by Trustee Melley that the reports of all City officers received at ~nls meeting be accepted and filed. ~Ioti on carried, A co~,munlcation was received fro~ ~#County Recorder T.C. Rice enclosing our City warrant 4677 which had~been~p~id~h~i¥~ ~fo? rpcgrd~ing~City de.ed~ in the su~ of thirteen and ~0/100 Dollars, The recoreer s~ee ~na~ ne nac ~oun~ a prov~s~on of the law whereby work for ~naicipalities might be done gratis. The cou~unication was p~aced on file and the City C~erk was instructed to send a letter of thanks to the C$~t$ Recorder The following demands against ~ae City were presented f~r payment the same having been approved by the f~nance committee.
