This ~eeting was called to order at 8 O' clock p.m.,by Trustee G.W. fiolston "President of the Boar
of Trustees".
Rol~-call
Rollcall found the following Trustees present,to-wit;
F.A. Cunningham, A.J. Eschelbach, ~J~. E$ll~, and G.W. Holston
Absent Trustee M.F. Healy.
The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and upon motion of Trustee Kelley seconded by
Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved$ as read.
A protest against iu~pro~ing the alley lying between Grand an~ B~$e$ Aven~e~ an~.between~aple~aD~
~pruce Avenues was received at this meetingjand this being the evemgng sem zor ~ne recep~mon
for the above mentioned work and improvment and there being onl~ one bid before the Board of Trust
which was the bid of Chas. J. Lindgren and ~&r. Lindgren being present asked that on account of th
protest against the work at this time that he be allowed to withdraw his bid.
It was then moved by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Kelley that I~r. Lindgren/be allowed
to withdraw his bid for the Improvment of the alley between Gr~d and Baden and for the distance
between ~aple and Spruce Avenues.

The peti$~on against the above mentiomed work was filed and the work indefinately postponed.
A petition was received from property owners in B~ock 102 Zap of South Sam Francisco asking that
the alley between Grand and Miller Avenues and for the distance between Spruce and Magnolia Avenu
be improved by paving same with a concrete pavement, but the petition not being signed by the maJo
ity of the property owners in the above mentioned district the matter was postponed until the pe
ition would receive more signatures.
A petition was received from the E.C. Peck Investment Company,asking that they be allowed to bull,
a garage on the rea~ of lot 7 in Block 1Zg.

garage.was built according to the building ordinance of the city of South S~n Francmsco.

After a lenghtly discussion it was moved by Trustee Eschelbach seconded by Trustee Kelley theft
the former motion of Trustee Eschelbach concerning the building of a garage on lot ? Block
be rescinded.

granted permission to build a garage on the rear of lot 7 Block 1~9.

ma~icously opening fire hydrants and allowing water to be wasted,it was ~oved by Trustee ~~gh~
~n~ b~ Trustee Kelley that a reward of Twenty five Dollars be paid for the arrest and convic,
anyone ~a~pering illegally with the fire hydrants in the City of South San Francisce.

A communication was received from Alex Ryan o£ Redwood City askinm for a refund of taxes on accoun'
of serving withthe United S, tates Army in France.
Action was postponed until ~Ir Ryan made affidavit of thefacts upon which his request for refund we~
based.
A communication was receive8 fro~ Paul Rennick asking refund of taxes on account of serving in th~
United States Arm~ during the late war.
l~oved by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee ~schelbach that the Clerk be instructed to draw
a w~rrwnt fem~ the General Fund in the sum of $1~.6~ in favor~o~ P~ul Hennick.

An application for the driving and houseing of the City Fire Trusk was recived from £.n. Lewis
to take effect No,.-em~er lat. 1919.
~oved by Trustee Kelley seconded by Trustee Eschelbach that the application be granted.

A co~munic~tion was received from George Selby notifying the Board that the firN~ of Blanchard
Crocker and Howell,had broken the curbing on the ~orth westerly corner of l~iller and W~lnut Avenue
by driving concrete mixer against s~id curb.
The City Clerk was instructed to notify Blanchard, Crocker & ~owell to have the damaged curb
repaired.

The following resolution was then introduced by Trustee Cunningham.
Resolved that, whereas the Board of Trustees of the City of S~uth S~n Franciscodid,on the 6th. day

Whereas at no time ~:as any person delivered to the City Clerk of said City or to said Board
of Trustees a written protest egainst said work,or any part thereof, or against the extent of
the district hereinafter described,or against ~e~ said work and said district; therefore be
it resolved that p~lic interest and convenience require the work hereinafter described,and t~
Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh San Francisco hereby orders the following to be done
said City,to-wit :
That Swift Avenue ,from aline drawn at right angles to the center line of said Swift Avenue at
a point three thousand seven hundredninety 13,790) feet easterly along the center line of Swi~
Avenue from the intersection of the center line of Grand Avenue with the center line of Swift
Avenue,to the easterly termination of said Swift Avenue,be improved as follows:
By grading Swift Avenue to official line and grade for the full lenght and for the width of
thirty three 133) feet;
By constructing therein,for the full lenght hereinbefore mentioned an asphaltic concrete pave-
ment eighteen (18) feet wide,consisting of an asphaltic concrete wearing surface :~ and one ·
half[1 1/2 inches in thickness laid on a cement concrete base six (6) inches in thickness;
by constructing therein four (4) circular corrugated iron culverts,each having a diameter of
eighteen ~8) inches, st the places shown uoon the plans hereinafter mentioned for the constr~
tion of said culverts.
All work herein provided for shall be done to official grade a~d in accordance with the speci~
plan's and specifications for said work,which plans and specifications are entitled "~lans and
specifications for the construction of i~provment work on Swift Avenue,in the City of ~outh S~
Francisco, County of San I~steo,State of California,which avenue is fully shown upon the plans
hereto attached,which are made a part hereof ," which plans and specifications were hereto-
fore adopted by said Board of Trustees on the 2Zrd. day of June 1919,and are now on file in the

in the "Improvment Bond Act of 191~", and the amendments thereto,the last installment of which
bonds shall mature nine (9) years from the second day of July next succeeding nine (9) months
from their date,,
Except as hereinbefore provided,all of the herein proposed work shall be done ini~, p~ru£-
ance of an act of the Legislature of the State of California,designated as "The Improvment Act
of 1911",approved April,7,1911,and amendments thereto.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to post a notice o6 said work together with the plans and
