RESOL~TION ORDERING THE FRADING PF A DRIVEWAY FOR THE PROP-
Resolved by the Beard of Trustees of the City of S~uth San Francisco ,that public interest
and convenience require the work herein described and the Board of Trustees of said City
of ~outh San Franciscohereby orders the following v,'ork to be done in said City,to-with
That excavation be made for a driveway upon the civic center site for the prop-
osed city Hall.
All work herin provided for shall be done to official grade and in accordance
withthe ~pecial plans and specifacations hereby adopted ,for s~id work,whickh plan~ and
sDeclfications are now on file inthe office of the City Clerk,to whic$ reference is heret~
made for further description of said work.
The City t~lerk i~ hereby directed to publish for two weeks in"~he Enterprise"$
newspaper of general circulation printed and published in said City of South San 2ranciseo
the following notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for said work:

Sealed proposals will bw received by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Fran-
cisco until Eight (8) 0' c:ock p.m. ~;onday the 2ord. day of February,1920,for doing the

the specia]~ plans and specifications for said work,which plans and specifications are now

cription of said work. The successful bidder shall,withir: ten days days after the ~war
enter into a contract' ~t~,

All proposals muzt be accompanied with a certificate check upon a solvent bank of the
State of California,payable to the City of South Sen Francisco,in an amount of not less 1ha
Ten Il0) per cent of the sggregate of the bid,upon the condition that if the proposal be
accepted and the contract awarded and if the bidder shall fail and neglect to execute a
conteact and give the bonds required,the sum mentioned in said check shall be liquidated
damages for such failure and neglect and shall be forfeited to and paid into the treasury
of the City of Seuth San Francisco.
Bidders shall give the unit prices for said work of excavation. The bicder to whom
co~tra~ttls swarded'. ~i!l be required to execute a bond for l,h~ faiti~ful performance o£ his
work in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent of the amount of undertaking with at least two
responsibe sureties i~ the I'u!l amount o£ the bid each: s~d will also be required bei'ore enterin~
upon the work to furnish a good amd sufficient bond as required by an act of the Legislature
approved May 10,1919,entitled "An act to secure the payment of the claims of person~ employed
by contractors upon public works,and the claims of persons .w~bzSu~ni~h~ma~eri~l~s~supplies,teams
implements or machineryused or cons~:ed by such contractor in the performance of such works,and
prescribeing the duties of certain public officers wi~h respect thereto."
The contriver must be entered into in compliance with and ~ubject to the conditions imposed
by section 653 c of the political code of the state of California.
Tea]ed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk on or before 8 0' clock
p.m. of L~onday 23,1920.
