HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes 1921-05-16400 · Regular meeting of the Boned of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco, held Monday,May 16th, 1921, at the City Hall. The meeting was called to order at 8.15 p.m. by G.W.Helsten, president of the Board. Roll Call. Roll call found the following Trustees present,to-wit;- A.J.Eschelbach, L.G.Hardy Jr.,H. Scampini, G.W.Holston. Absent Trustee, F.A.Cunningham. The minutes of ~he two previous meetings were read and upon motion of Trustee Hardy seconded by Trustee EsChel~ach and regularly carried were approved. The Gamewell Fire-Alarm Telegraph Company wrote in'answer to the City's communication comcerning the defective Diaphone Horn, stating they would leave nothing undone to place the fire- alarm system in first class comdition and to the satisfaction of the Honorable Board of Trustees. Accepted and filed. A communication was received from the South San Francisco Water Company,answering the city's letter with regard to the damage done by the water company to the city's streets, stetimg that repairs would be made on Swift Avenue Extension as soon as the installation of the mew main is comoleted_ amd on Linden Avenue in probably 9ne week. Commercial Avenue was not referred to,nor the $500 Ben~ asked for by' the city as a guaranmee of faithful performance of repair work.Accepted and filed. The Board of Fire Underwriters of the Pacific answered the city's cummunication relative to the installation of the fire-alarm system And the proposed fire district ordinance, stating that the alarm system had already had attention and asking for a copy of the new fire district ordinance. Accepted and filed. St. MiMhael's Lodge of this city asked permission to dance after lodge meeting, Sunday June sixth next from one p.m. to six p.m. members only to be present and mc. admission charged. Moved by Trustee Hardy seconded by Trustee Scampini the request be granted. Carried. It was the sense ortho Board that for a privat~ dance of this character permission from the City Trustees was not necessary. On motion of Trustee ~ardy the ~lerk was instructed to order a light Placed at Orange & Baden Aves. J.D.Raudebaugh applied for the position of Electric-al Imspector. The aPPlication was accepted and placed on file. Mrs.E.L.A~derson and son,C.T.Amderson applied for a Soft drimk license for the ~Tamforaa Hotel.The application was denied by the v~te of all the members present. The application of Cabaniss Ed. Johnson for a soft drink license for the coffee parlor, #90 Gramd Avenue which was referred to ~arshal Conradat the last meeting~was brought to the attention 0~ the Board. On recommendation of the ~arshal the Board granted the licanse. The report o~ City Treasure~ Kauffman for 'the month ef April was received accepted and Ordered placed on ~ile. ~ The subject of the drainage of storm wa~ers in the northern part of the c~ty was brought to the attention of the Board by City Engineer Kneese. After much discussion it was decideA to await a f~ll membership of the Board before taking definite action as to the best method to pursue. Payment of the Gamewell Fire &larm Telegraph Co's bill was postponed umtil~all the conditions of the company's a~reement are complied with. ~, AN ORDINANCE ~ENDING SECTION 19 OF ORDINANCE ~12 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTITLED 'A~ ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE RUNNING AT LARGE OF ANIMALS WITHIN TEE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO AND PROVIDING FOR THE IMPOUNDING AND SALE OF ANIMALS FOUND RUNNING AT LARGE IN SAID CITY', PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TEE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON THE 4th DAY OF JANUARY,1909,,AND REPEALING ORDINANCE $95 0F TiLE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION #19 OF ORDINANCE $12 OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ENTI~LED 'AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING TNE RUNNING AT LARGE OF ANIMALS WITHIN THE LIMITS OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO,AND PROVIDING FOR T~E I~O~NDING AND SALE OF ANIMALS F0~ND RUNNING AT LARGE IN SAID CITY', PASSED AND ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF TEE CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO ON T~E 4th DAY OF JAI~ARY, 1909," was formally introduced for its first reading by Trustee Eschelbach and was laid over to come up under the regular order of business st the next regular meetingof the Board. The motion was seconded by Trustee Hardy and regularly carried. There being no further business before the Board Trustee Scampini moved adjournment until Monday May 23rd, 1921, at eight!o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee Hardy amd regularly carried.
