Regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco, held Monday,
August lst,1921, at the City Hall.
The meeting was called to order at eight o'clock p.m. by T~stee G.W.Holston, President of the
Board.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all Trustees present, to-wit:-
F.A.Cunningham.A.J.Eschelbach, L.G.Eardy Jr.,H.Scampini, G.W.Holston.
The minutes of the previous were read and upon ~otion of T~ustee Cnnningham seconded by Trustee
Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved.
A communication was received from Mike ~ilak, asking for the position street cleaner. As there
was no opening in this department the communication was ordered filed.
Mike Byrne, an electrician formerly with the Pacific Coast Steel Co., made application for the
position of electrical inspector. Consideration will be given the application st the next meeting.
Clerk McSweeney was granted a leave of Absence of fifteen days, on motion of Trusted(City £TTy
Cunnimgham, seconded by Trustee Eschelb~ch, same to take effect on Wednesday, August 10th~berd wil~ act
~Ars Delia Wallacw of the Veranda Hotel applied for and was granted a soft drink license.(clerk
The application for a soft drink license of A.~acatelli, #Z05 San Bruno Road,was laid over for
one week, awaiting the report of the City ~!~rshal.
Peter ~iarani of the firm of Bertucelli and ~ariani appeared before the Board and asked that
the Peddler's license 0~dinance covering outside grocers,be &nforced. He stated that several grocers
from nearby towns were selling groceries in South San Francisco without having paid any license, to
the detriment of the local grocers. The Marshal was instructed to endeavor to locate them and have
them take out licenses.
The reports of the Fire Marshal,Recorder, Marshal,and ~lerk were next read. The Clerk's

Cunningham and seconded by Trustee Eschelbach that the reports be accepted and filed. Carried.

On motion of Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried the
claims were ordered paid, the finance committee having ~pproved the same.
There being no further business before the Board Trustee Scampini moved adjournment until
Monday, August 8th, 1921 at eight o'clock p.m. The motion was ~econded by Trustee Hardy and regularly
carried. Time of adjournment, 9.20 p.m.
