Adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco
held A~gust 12tS, 2921.
The Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh Sa~ Francisco met in regularly adjourned
session on the lYth day o~ August, 1923, st 8.00 o'clock p.m.
There were present the~, followings- Trustees F.i. Cunningham,A.J.Eschelbach,
G.W.Holston, L.G.Hardy Jr.,and H.Scampi~i. No one was absent.
In response to the notice served upon Geo. U Belallis,Louis Poulos and
B.Assimocopoulos, to appear before said Board of Trustees on the l£th day of August, 1921,to show
cause why their lieense to conduct the poolroom known as California Pool Hall should not be revoked,
these persons appea~ed before said Boasd at this time. After hearing the st~.tememts of E.E.Cumuingham
Geo. Belallis and Louis Poulos, it was moved by Trustee Cunningham, seconded by Trustee Eschelbach
and regularl~ carried, that the proprietors of California Pool H~ll be granted ten days within
which to dispose of their business.
It was then moved by Trustee Eschelbach,seconded by Trustee Hardy, and regularly
carried,that said Board of Trustees adjourn.
Time of adjournment 9:1~ p.m.

The Board of Trustees of the City of South Sah Francisco met in regular session
on the 15th day of August, !921.at 8:00 p.m.
There were present the following;- Trustees F.A.Cunningham,A.J.Eschelbach,,~ . .
G.W,Holston,L,G.Hardy Jr. and H. Scampini, No one was absent.
It was moved by Trustee Eschelbach,seconded by Trustee Hardy and regularly carried
that the reading of the minutes of the two previous meetings be dispensed with.
It was moved by Trustee ~campini, seconded by Trustee Cunnin gham and regularly
carried that the bids for improvement work in the alley between Miller Avenue znd Grand Avenue,
the alley between Grand Avenue and Baden Avenue ~nd the alley between Baden Avenue and. Commercial
~venue be onened.
The following bids were submitted:
Hugh Crummey, Grading ~1.40 per cubic yard, Cconcrete p~vement ~.25 per square foot.

An zpplication for a soft drink license by G.Galli and E.Lombardi to conduct a
place of business at 258 Grand Avenue was re~eived. It ~as moved by Trustee Eschelbach and seconded
by Trustee Hardy that this application be let over for one week. The motion was carried.
A communication was received from M.A.Borba asking for the privelige of bidding on
str~t cleaning work, in the event that there should be a change. The conm:unication was ordered filed.
The following biJls were then read.and audited:-
Southern Pacific Co. Priv~Xege mcintaining sewer pipe at crossings
Leases # 17199 and 17200 $ 2.00
Burroughs adding machine co. six months repair $ 6.50
Leveson Comp&ny iI~rdw~re, etc., ~18.98
It was regularly moved by Trustee Cunningham and sedonded by Trustee Eschelbach
that the bills be p~id as audited. The motion was carried.
An application was received from Paul Allegrini 6nd Fred ~artinelli to conduct a
soft drink place of busines~~ at the T~nforan Hote!.It was moved by Trustee Eschelb~ch and seconded
by Trustee Cunningh~m that the application be denied. Upon roll call the vote upon this moZion was
as follows: Ayes, F.A.Cunn~nghgm,A.J.Eschelbsch,H.Scampini G.W.Holston: no, L.R.H~rdy Jr.
Doctor J.C.~c~overn, Health 0fficer,a~peared before the Board and complained about
the great number of rats feeding upon the garbage at the city garbage dump. He was directed to take
the matter up with the State Health authorities.
It was moved by Trustee Cunningham, seconded by Trustee Eschelbzch and regularly
carried, that the Board adjourn to meet on Monday, August the 22nd, 1921, at 8:00 p.m.
Time of adjournment 9.20 p.m.

sessiom on the 22nd day of ~ugust, 1921,st 8:00 p.m. There were present the following:- Trustees
F.A.Cunningh8m,A.J.Eschelbach. G.W.Holston, L.G.Hardy Jr.,H.Scampini. No one was absent.
It was ~oved by Trustee Cunningh~m,~:econded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried,
that the reading of the minutes be dispensed with. An application was received from Joseph Msinini
and Enrico Columbo to operate a pool hal! at ~22A Grand Avenue st the place heretofore known as
California Pool Hall. It was moved by Trustee H~rdy seconded by Trustee Scampini that the matter
be laid over one week. The motion was carried. It wa~ moved by Trustee Hardy and seconded by Truste~
Cunningham that the application of G~alli and E.Lombardi for a soft drink license be denied. Upon
roll call the vote on this motion was as follows:- Ayes, Trust,~es F.A.Cunnin~ham, A.J.Escheibach, . ~
L.G.Hardy Jr., and G.W.H°lston: no, trustee H.Scampini,
A.Hynding then aDpeared before the Board ~nd m~de inquiry ss to what hsd been done
with regard to passing a sewer under the Southern P~cific tracks in the vicinity of the Pacific
Coast Steel Ce.property. It was informally decided that a con,nitres consisting of such members of the
the Board of Trustees as could conveniently go should accompany representatives from the Ch~;~ber of
Commerce snd the Manufacturers Association in an interview with the Southern Pacific Company relative
to this matter.
No further business appearing before s~id Board of Trustees.it w~.s ~oved by Trustee
Hardy and seconded by Trustee Cunningham that said Board of Trustees adjourn to ~'~eet ~onday, August
29th, 1921, at 7.Z0 p,m. The motion was carried. Time of adjournment, 9.1~ p.m.
