The Beard was called to order by Trustee G.W.Rolston,President of the Boerd, at eight o'c~
p.m..
Roll Call.
Roll call found all Trustees present,to-wit;-
F.A.Ounningham,A.J.Eschelbach,L.G.Hardy Jr,H,Sc~mpini, and G.W.Holston.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee ~unnihgham,
seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly c&rried were approved.
A communication was received from the Msyor of Santa ~on~ca inviting the City offici&ls t~
attend the convention of the League of ualifornia Mumicipalities to be held in Santa ~onica Sep't
27.28,29,~0th, and stating reservations would 'be made if desired.Communication ordered filed.
Cmmmunic~tions were received from the Chamber of Commerce suggesting that provisions be m
for the continuation of the plsnting of trees and improvements made in the lighting system.
The Board stated thet the matter of planting trees would be given consideration. Trustee
Cunningh~m was delegated to make inquiries concerning the cost of installation and maintenance of
sn improved lighting system and report a~ a later meeting.
City Marshal Conrad reported broken sidewalks on Grand ~venue badly in nged of repairs. TI
street committee was instructed to attend ~o the metter.
The City 2arshal also reported that posts had been placed in the sidewelk in front of the
.Union g~soline and oil station, Baden Avenue snd L~mden Avenue. The City Attorney was instructed ~
~n~estigate and ascertain if the City could ~e held responsible in case of accident on account of
posts.
Andrew Hynding appeared before the Board and asked information concerning the location, s~
etc., of the sanitary storm-water sewer in the vicinity of the .~'ontana Food Products new plant, s~
company was ~esirous of having this data before proceding with their buildings.The Clerk w~s instz
to write the Fontana company stating that the sewer would be solid concrete cemer~t,cap~ble of
withstanding ~ strain of 600 lbs to the square foot and that the City would require a twelve-foot
right of way ~dJioning the southerly boundary line of the company's property.
Health officer Mc$overn repo~ted rats numerous in the vicinity of certain stores in the
business district and asked,the Board's support in eradicating the evil. He wes instructed to proc
with his duties end his actions would be sustained by the Board.
Trustee ~unningham asked ~he Board's permission to order a ta~k of oil ~or the City Hall.~
motion regulsrly moved, seconded ~nd carried the request was grantee.
On motion of Trustee Eschelbach ~con~d~b~rustee Hardy and regulerly carried Lliss ~ich~
was appointed nurse oX the school departmentwith compensation of $&2,~0 per month.

Trustee Eschelbach next introduced the following resolution ~-
FIXING TAX RATE FOR FISCA~ YEAR 1921-192£.
Resolved by the Bosrd of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that the number of ce
to be paid to said City of South San Francisco upon each One Hundred (100)dollars of the propert~
taxable by said Municipality within said City oX South San Francisco, and hereby levied upon for
the purposes of the several funds hereinefter named for the fiscal year beginning July lst., 1921,
and ending June 30th, 1922, be, ~nd the same hereby are designated as ~ollows;

BOUi~ARIES OF SAiD CiTY OF SOUTH SA~ ~RANCISCO.
General fund, One Dollar ($1.00);

And said Board of Trustees hereby fixes the rate of taxes of said city at the sun of One a
4~/100 Dollars ($1.4,) upon each one hundred (100) dollars of the property taxable by said munici~
and contained within the original corporate boundaries of said City of South San Francisco, the ss
being the aggregste of the amounts set opposite the foregoing funds,and hereby levies t~e sum of
One and *4/100 Dollars ($1.44) upon each One l~ndred (100) Dollars of all the property taxable ~
said municipality ~nd contained within the ori~inal corporete boundaries of s~id City of South Sam
Franctsco,a~ orders the same to be collected.-

The claims having been ~pproved by the finance.committee Trustee Eschelbach moved
they be p~id. The motion was seconded by Trustee ~erdy and re~ularlM Carried.

they be paid. The motion was seconded by Trustee ~ardy and regularly Carried.

In the absense of G.W.Holston, President of the Board,L.G.Hardy Jr. was selected chairman~
pro tom and called the meeting to order st eight o'clock, p.m. Trustee ~'.~.Oumningham wss selected
to act as deputy gity clerk in the absense o~ City Clerk ~c~weeney.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found the following Trustees present, to-wit,~.A.Cnnningham..H. Scampini snd
L.G.Hardy Jr.
The reading of the minutes of the p~evious meeting was dispensed with.
A communication was received from the Southern Pacific ~ompany giving an estimate of
the cost for piling, otc to protect their tracks during the construction of the storm water
senit~ry sewer under the same. The clerk was instructed to reply stating their terms were agreeable
snd the city would mske further final arrangements and confirm the sgreement at the next meeting
of the Board of Trustees ~enday evening October Zrd, and enter into contract if desired.
A comnumicstion was received from the So. San z~rancisc Land and Improvement Co inquiring
ss to the course of the storm-watersewer,whichAat some future date will be constructed from the bsy
to Linden avenue,across l~nds of the ~acific goast Steel Co, as reserved by the land company.
The clerk was instructed to answer the communication sts~ting that it was agreed by the Board of
Trustees some weeks ago,thet when this sewer is constructed it will follow Industrial W~y from the
crossing of the Southern Pacific tracks to Swift Avenue.

Trustee Scsmpini moved the bids be laid over until the next regular meeting for
further consideration. The motion was seconded by Trustee Ounningham and regularly carried.
There being no further business before the ~oard TrussteeScampini moved to
adjourn untill the next regular meeting,Mondsy October 3rd, 1921. The motion was ~econded by Trusteen
ounninghsm and regulsrly carried.
