The Board of Trustees of the City of ~outh [~an Francisco met in regular session in the City Hall on .'~iarch 20,f922. The meeting was called to order at 8 o'clock y..m. by G.W.Holston, Tresident of the Board of Trustees. There were present the following Trustees: F.~.Cunningham,Y..J.~schelbach, ~.W.Holston, L,G.Hardy, Jr. and H.Scampini. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and, upon motion of Trustee ounninghsm, 'seconded by Trustee ,~schelbach and regularly carried, were approved as read. A petition was received from a number of residents from the wes~ end of the ~ity asking tha the Board take uD the matter of sewering and placing sidewalks in that district. The matter was referred to the ~ity ,~ngineer for a report and estimate. South city Lodge No832 L.0.0.~,i. applied for permission to hold a dance in ~'raternal mall Saturday evening April 22nd next until 2 a.m. Permissinn granted. Zn s?plication for a pool room license was received from T.C.Connolly, 2[,? Grand Avenue, the ense was granted by the following vote; Ayes, Trustees, ~.~.Cunn ngham,~..J.Eschelbach,~.~.Hardy Jr.,i~.Scampini, G.W.Holston. Noes, Trustees. None. Absent, Trustees, ~o~e. · An application for a soft drink license was reJeive~ from oasimir Christen of the L2 mile House. The $,pplication was granted by the following vote, Ayes, ~'.~..Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, L.G.Hardy Jr.,H.$campini, G.W.Holston. Noes, None, Absent, Trustees, None. An application for a soft drink license was received from Edwin E Spohn,for the restaurant, ~fI246 s~n Bruno Road. The application was granted by the following vote;- Ayes, Trustees, F.A.Cunninghsm /..J.Eschelbach, L.G.Hsrdy JV., G.W.Holston. Noes, Trustees, H.Sc~,mpini. Absent Trustees, ~one. A representative of Howe's Wild Animal show appeared before the ~oard in answer to a commun~ tion from the ~ity requesting them to change the dr~te of their show from Sunday :,.,larch 26th to a week ( On the showin~ that the circus company hsd spent s large amount of money in advertising, billing and in raiRroad contracts the Board decided to allow the show to proceed sccordin~ to the date selected. ~lec~rical ~nspestor Byrnes addressed the Board and' advised that a Iicen~e fee be charged contractors doing electrical work in the city. It was de(:ided to anen5 the electrical inspection 0rdinsnce to include a license fee of ~;:I5.00 per annum ~..nd a retaining fee of ~,~'I5.00 to insure first class work according to the Ordinance.City attorney Coleberd wes ~nstructed to prepare the necessary amendment. 0rdinanceNO.lI4 entitled: "An Ordinance providing for submitting to the qualified electors of the ~it:~ of South San _~'rancisco ,at the general, election to be held in said uity on th~ I0th day of April,1922,the question or proposition of the levy of a tax for grading the '~ ' · u.v~c Center Site in said ~ity", was read and upoz roll call was ador~ted ~,s an ordinance of the ~ity of South San Francisco by the follow'ing vote: ~" ~r. tf. Ordinance No. II5 entitled: "An Srdinsnce calling a special election in the ~ity of South San ~'rsncisco, ~ounty of San Msteo, State of ~alifornia, for the purpose of submitting smd submitting to the qualified elector~ of the City of South San Francisco, s municipal corporation, a proposition to incur s bonded indebted~ thereof to pay the cost of certain public municiDal improvements, the cost of which said municipal improvements will be too great to be paid out of the ordinary annual income and revenue of said City South San ~'rsncisco, and will, in addition to the other expenditures of said ~ity of Suuth San ~'ranci~ exceed the income and revenue provided for in any one year, and fixing Monday the 10th day of April,l~ as tho date upon which said election shall be held; the manner of holding said election and voting fo~ or against incurring such indebtedness; also declaring the estimated cost of s~id proposed public improvements, the amount of the principal of the indebtedness to be incurred therefor and the rate of interest to be Daid ihereon. The said proposition to be submitted, and so submitted to the qualified electors of raid of South San Francisco, being the incurring of a bonded indebtedne~s of ~46,000.00 for the asquisitioz construction and completion by the oity of South Tan ~'rsncisco, a municipal corporation, of sewers in San Bruno Road from chapman Avenue to the north boundary line of said ~ity and in ~utler ~o~ including sn outfall sewer and the acquisition of the necessary rights of way for said outfall sewer, was read and u~on roll call was adopted as an ordinance of the city of South San Francisco by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees, F.A.cunningham,A.J.~schelbach,L.G.~ardy Jr., H.~csmpini, and G.W.H01ston. ~oes, Trustees, ~one. ~bsent, Trustees, ~one. The motion w~s seconded by Trustee Eschelbach smd reguRarly carried.
