Regular meeting o~ the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco held Monday
June 19th, 1922.
The meeting was called to order at 7.S0 o'clock p.m. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of
the Board.
Roll call.
Roll call found all Trustees present, to-wit;-
F.A.0~nningham, A.J.Eschelbach, L.G.Hardy Jr,, H.Scampini. G.W.Holston.
The minutes of the two previous meetings were read and upon motion of Trustee 0unningham,
secOnded by Trustee Hardy and regularly carried were approved as read.
District Attorney Swart submitted a copy of a letter sent to. City Attorney Xirkbride of San
Mateo, which states that fines collected by municipalities for violation of the Moros Vehicle Act,should,
according to state law, be turned over to the county treasury. It was stated that May 1st was the date
set for the county aagitor to begin collecting such fines from municipalities. The matter was referred
to 0ity Attorney Coleberd for advise.
Attention of the Board was called to the fact that soil and refusewere accumulating on the
,Sidewalks in front of the So. S.F.Land 0o's property on the north side of Grand ZvenUe, between Accasia
and EucalYptUs Avenues and on Orange Avenue between Grand and Miller Avenues. The clerk was instructed
to;..write the company a letter and request that' the sidewalks be cleaned up.
President Holstonasked if there were any persons present with objections to the proposed
street improvement work in Peck's Lots' There being none Trustee Cunningham introduced the following
resolution;-

RESOLUTION ORDERING THE WORK.
Resolved.that, whereas the Board of Trustees of the 0ity of South San Francisco did, on the
29th day of May, 1922, pass its ~esolution of tntentiom No. 46 to order the hereinafter described work
to be done and improvement to be made in said 0ity, which Resolution of Intention w~s duly and regularly
published as required by law, as appears from the affidavit of Robert Speed now on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City; and
Whereas notices of the passage of said Resolution of Intention No. 46 headed "Notices of
Improvement" were duly a~l~gally posted alomg the line of said contemplated work or improvement and
in front of all the prope~y~to be assessed therefor,, and along all the open streets within the district
hereinafter described, in manner and form as required by law,as appears from the affidavit of George A.
Kneese, Superintendent of Streets of said City,. who, after the completion of the posting of said notices
filed his affidavit in the office of the City 01erk, making oath that he completed ~he~posting of said
notices on the 7th day of June, 1922; and
Whereas at no time has any person delivered to the City Clerk of said City. or to said Board
of Trustees a written protest against said work, or any part thereof, or against the extent of the
district hereinafter described, or against both said work and said district; therefore be it resolved
that public interest and comvenience require the work hereinafter described, and the Board of Trustees
of the City of South San Francisco hereby orders the following work to be done in said City, to-wit:
Section A.
That the following streets and avenues mentioned in this section be improved by
grading between the existing curbs of each of said streets and by constructing On both sides of each of
said streets cement concrete gutters of the dimensions and at the locations shown upon the plans and
specifications hereinafter referred to and by paving each of said streets between the edges of such
gutters with an asphaltic concrete pavement One and 0ne-half (1~) inches in thickness laid on a cement
concrete base Four (4)inches in thickness:
Randolph Avenue from a line drawn from the point of the intersection of the northerly lime
of lot numbered One(l) with the northeasterly line of said lot in block lettered "T", as shown upon
the map hereinafter mentioned, across Randolph Avenue at right angles with the center line thereof,to
the line separating lots numbered Pive (5) and Six '(6) in block lettered "A", produced southerly across
Randolph Avenue, as shown upon the map hereinafter'mentioned; 0hapman Avenue from the southerly line
of Randolph Avenue to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road; Green Avenue from the northerly line
of Chaoman Avenue to the southerly line of Randolph Avenue; Gardiner Avenue from the southeasterly line
· of BraZen Avenue to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road.
Section B.
also that portion of Randolph Avenue from the line separating said lots numbered
Five (~) and Six (~1 in block lettered "A",produced southerly across said Randolph Avenue,as shown
upon the map hereinafter mentioned.to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road be improved by grading
for the full width thereof,and by constructing therein on each side of the portion of Randolph Avenue
in this section described a cement concrete sidewalk and combination cement concrete curb and gutter
of the dimensions and at the locatiOns shown upon the plans and specifications hereinafter referred ~
to; and by paving said portion of Randolph Avenue in this section described between the edges of such
gutters with an asphaltic concrete pavement One and 0ne-half (1~) inches in thickness laid upon a
cement concrete base Four (A) inches in thickness;
Section C.
Also that Four ~A~ inch versified.salt-glazed ironstone pipe lateral or side
sewers be constructed to connect with and run from the existing main sewers to the boundary lines on
both sides of the portions cf Randolph Avenue described in sections A and B of this resolution and
the portions of Chapman Avenue and Green Avenue described in section A of this resolution to the number
of one such lateral sewer for each lot or parcel of land fronting upon each of said streets or a~enues,
as said lots or parcels of land are shown on said plans; wherever lateral sewers are to be constructed
to corner lots. such lateral sewers shall be constructed from the main sewer opposite to the shorter
side of each of such corner lots.
The map hereinbefore referred to is that certain map entitled "Map of Peck's Subdivision
~o. 1, South San Francisco, San Mateo County, 0al.", which map was filed in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of San Mabeo, California, June 2A, 1907, in Book ~ of Original Maps at page 11.
Ail work herein provided for shall be done to the official grade and in accordance with the
special plans and specifications for maid work. which plans and specifications are entitled "Plans and
specifications for the construction of improvement work on Chapman Avenue, 2andolph Avenue, Green ~venue
and Gardiner Avenue in the 0ity of South ~an Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California,which
streets and avenues are fully shown upon the plans hereto attached, which plans are made a part hereof",
which plans and specifications were heretofore adopted by said Board of Trustees on the 18th day of
~ay, 1922, and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk, and' to which plans and specifications
reference is hereby made for a further description of said work and for the location and extent of the
work to be done hereunder and for a particular description of the boundaries of the district herein
mentioned. Ail such work is to include any and all street intersections and stree~ terminations and
opposite terminations of, in and to all the above mentioned streets and those to respective lines above
mentioned, as is more particularly shown upon said plans. Any duplication ink, any of the work hereinbefore
described shall be ignored. There is excepted,however, from the above mentioned work any and all such
work as has been already done to official grade.
And said Board of Trustees did. in said Resolution of Intention ~c. ~6. determine and
and Eucalyptus Avenues and on Orange Avenue between Gr'and and }liller Avenues. The clerk was instructed

Also that Four {4) inch vetsified,salt-glazed ironstone pipe lateral or side
sewers be constructed to connect with and run from the existing main sewers to the boundary lines on
both sides of the portions of Randolph Avenue described in sections A and B of this resolution and
the portions of Chapman Avenue and Green Avenue described in section A of this resolution to the number
~of one such lateral sewer for each lot or parcel of land fronting upon each of said streets or a~enues,
as said lots or parcels of land are shown on said plans; wherever lateral sewers are to be constructed
to corner lots~ such lateral sewers shall be constructed from the main sewer opposite to the shorter
side of each of such corner lots.
The map hereinbefore referred to is that certain map entitled "Map of Peck's Subdivision
~o. 1, South San Francisco, San Ma~eo County, 0al.", which map was filed in the office of the County
Recorder of the County of San Ma~eo, California, June 24, 1907, in Book 5 of Original Maps at page ll.
All work herein provided for shall be done to the official grade and in accordance with the
special plans and specifications for said work, which plans and specifications are entitled "Plans and
specifications for the construction of improvement work on Chapman Avenue, Randolph Avenue, Green ~venue
and Gardiner Avenue in the City of South Can Francisco, County of San Mateo, State of California,which
streets and avenues are fully shown upon the plans hereto attavhed, which plans are made a part hereof",
which plans and specifications were heretofore adopted by said Board of Trustees on the 15th day of
~ay, 19~, and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk, and to which plans and specifications
reference is hereby made for a further description of said work and for the location and extent of the
work to be done hereunder and for a particular description of the bot~ndaries of the dis~rict herein
mentioned. All such work is to include any and all street intersections and stree~ terminations and
opposite terminations of, in and to all the above mentioned streets and those to respective lines above
mentioned, as is more particularly shown upon said plans. Any duplication in any of the work hereinbefore
described shall be ignored. There is excepted,however, from the above mentioned work any and all such
work as has been already don~ to official grade.
And said Board of Trustees did, in said Resolution of Intention No. 46, determine and
declare that said proposed work and improvement is of more than local or ordinary public benefit, and
will affect and benefit the lands and district hereinafter described which said district is declared in
said Resolution of Intention to be the district benefited by said work and improvement, and that

therefore the entire costs and expenses of said work and improvement shall be made chargeable again
and shall be assessed upon said lands and disSrict,exc~pt as herein expressly provided,which distri.
is within said ~ity of South San Francisco, County of San Mateo, ~tate of California, and particula~
bounded and described as follows, to-wit;
Beginning at a point on the northerly boundary line of the City of South San ~rancisco,wh
point is the northwest corner cf lot number~d Sixty (60) in block lettered_ "A" as said lot and blocl
are shown upon that certain map entitled "Map of Peck's Subdivisic~ No. l, South San Francisco, San
Mateo ~ounty, Cal.", which map was filed in the office of the County Recorder of the County of San!
California,June £4, 1907, in Book No. 5 of Original Maps at page ll; running thence southerly along
westerly line of said lot numbered Sixty(60) in said block lettered "A" to the northerly line of
Randolph Avenue; thence southeasterly on a straight line across said Randolph Avenue to the most
northwesterly corner of block lettered "T", as shown upon said map, which point is also on the
northeasterly line of Lewis Avenue; thence in a general southeasterly direction along the said nortl
erly line of Lewis Avenue to the northwesterly line of Braden Avenue; ~hence southeasterly on a str
line across said Braden Avenue to the line dividing lots numbered Forty-two (42) and Forty-four (44
block lettered "Q", as said lots and block are shown upon said map; thence southeasterly along the
separating said lots numbered Porty-two (42) and Forty-four (44) in said block lettered "Q" and
continuing southeasterl~ along the linc'dividing lots numbered ~orty-one (41) and Forty-three (431
said block "Q" to the northwesterly line of San Bruno Road, thence northeasterly along said northw
line of San Bruno Road to the northerly boundary o~ the Oity of South San Francisco, thence westerll
the said northerly boundary line of the City of South San Francisco to~ the point of beginning.
Saving, excepting and excluding from said district all public streets,avenues, alleys, 1
courts and places included and comtained.
Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments, and bear inter
the rate of Seven (7) per cent per annum, will be issued hereunder in the manner provided in the
"Improvement'Bond Act of 1915" and the amemdments thereto, the last installment of which bonds shal
mature Nine (9) Years from the second day of July next succeeding Nine (9) months from their date.
Except as hereinbefore provided , all of the herein proposed work shall ~e done in pursu
of an act of the Legislature of the State of ~alifornia, designated as "The Improvement Act of 1911
approved April 7,1911, and amendments thereto.
The City Olerk is hereby directed to post a notice of said work together with the plans
specifications therefor, conspicuously for five (5)days on or near the $ouncil ~hamber Door inviti~
sealed proposals for doing the work ordered. He is also directed to publish a notice inviting such
pOsals, and referring to the specifications posted or on file by two (2) insertions in"~he Enterpri
a weekly newspaper published and circulated in said Oity of South San Francisco, and hereby designa
for the purpose.

The claims having been approved by the finance committee Trustee Eschelbach moved they b
paid. The motion mas seconded by Trustee Ounningham and regularly carried.
There being no further business before the Board Trustee ~unningham moved to adjourn unt
Monday, June 26th, 1922, at 7,30 o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and
regularly carried. Time of adjournment, 9.0~ o'clock p.m.
