Tuesday, JulyESth, 1922.
The meeting was called to order at 7.30 o'clock p.m. by Trustee O.W.Holston, President of the
Board.
ROLL CALL,
Roll call found the following Trustees present, to-wit;-
F.A.Cunningham, L.G.Eardy J~..H. Soampini and G.W.H01ston.

The minutes of the previous meeting.were read and upon motion of Trustee Cnnningham seconded

A communication was received from the California State Board ~f Health requesting that the ci
send it8 Health Officer to the conventionof the California League of Municipalities toSe held at
Palo Alto next SePtember? The Clerk was instrUCted to reply stating that the city's Health Officer wo
be requested to attend the Health' 0ffioer's Section of the convention.
A communication was received from the City of Coronado inviting this city's co-operation in
bringing the convention of the League of California Municipalities to Coronado in 1923. Communicatioz
ordered filed.
Au application for a soft drink license was received from Roach and Mahoney for a restaurant
Tan~oranRoad. near the Tan Foran race track. Referred to the $ityMa~shal,~or investigation.
The matter of protests ~against the Ecectrolier Lighting System on Cypress Avenue was next ta~
up. It was considered carefully and at a 'future meeting of the Board decided answer will be given.
Protsstants againStl the placing~of lights of the E~ectrolier type on a portion of Grand Avon
between Spruce and Walnut Avenues appeared before the Board, the matter having been laid over from th
previous meeting, and were given to understand that the protest would be given further consideration
the next meeting.
Batista Rodondi apeeared before the Board for the residents of the Western part..of the city
'regarding the placing of sewers and sidewalks in that region. He was advised that proceedings would b
~commenced as soon as possible where practicable in that section.
A leak in the South San Francisco Water Co.'s ~ip~ was reported on Railroad Avenue, between
Spruce and Magnolia Avenues. The Clerk was instructed ~o notify the Water Co. to have the leak repair
The attention of the Board was called to the existing water mains in Peck's Lots, and that th
Board pf Underwriters recognize only ~ in. mains and upward in such districts. The clerk was instructe
to write to the So, SmmFrancisco WSter co and request that four inch water mains be laid in that sec
A report was received by the Board that the pavement is broken on the San Bruno Road near the
Golden Eagle Hotel, over the Spring Valley Water Co's Main. The Clerk was instructed to write the com
and notify them to repair the break.
In connection with the installation of the new EleCtrolier Lamp-posts the Board considered it
advisable to request the Telephone Company and the Pacific Gas & Electric Company to replace their wo
poles by something ornamental, to conform with the proposed new improvements. The clerk was instructs
to write the companies to this effect.
Jo~ Bernard appeared for residents of the block on Miller Avenue between Lindan Avenue and
Cypress AVenue, against the placing of Electrolier lights there. He was advised the protest would be
given proper consideration at the next meeting of the Board.
The following claims against the city were then presented for pmyment;-

The claims .having been approved by the finance committee Trustee Scampini moved they be paid,
The motion was seconded by Trustee Hardy and regularly carried.
There~being no further business before the Board Trust&e Hardy moved to adjourn until the hex
regular meeting~ Monday. August ?th, 1922. at 7.Z0 o'clock p.m, The motion was seconded by Trustee
Scampini and regularly carried.
