The meeting was called to order at ?:50 p.n. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of the Board. ROLL CALL. Roll call found all Trustees present, to-wit:- Trustees: F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach,J.W.Pitt, H.Scamoini, G.W.Holston. Absent, Trustees, None. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion of Trustee Scamoini, seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried were approved as read. A communication of inquiry was received from the South City Lumber & Supply Company stating that they had purchased Z.7 acres of land along Railroad Avenue in which the City has an 18" sewer easement inq~irinq as to width og space reserved and to whom repairs are chargeable, etc. The subject was referred to the City Attorney and the City Engineer for opinion. A communication w~s received from the Board of School Trustees of South San Francisco, stating that the street car connections at Liepsig Junction are inadequate, that children have to wait in the rain and c~ld there for a period of fifteen minutes . or more, at times, that the local car leaves the station often when the San Mateo car is in sight, and asking the Board to take action to improve the service ~. Trustee Cunningham moved that the Brosident of the Board of Trustees be emoowered to appoint ; member of the Board to act in conJuncti6n with representatives from the Merchants' Assoc~ the Manufacturers' Association, The Chamber of Commerce and the Superintendent of schools to wait upo~ the general manager of the United RailrOads and urge ~ change for .~ better street car service in th~ community. The motion was seconded by Trustee Eschelbach ~nd regularly carried. President Holston announced that he would make the appointment later. August ~acedo, owner of lot ~4,block 7, HS.Park Sub. made application for the refund of ~8.88 on account of excess taxes charged against his property. Granted. A statement was r~ceived from Trustee F.A.Cunningham, Chairman of the Christmas Seal Sales Co~ ee, showing receiots of $22£.51. Three-fourths of the amount,~16Z.ZS, were turned into the City's Anti-tubercular Fund, and check for same was received. Statement accepted and filed. Police Officer Belloni made a request upon the Board to furnish oil and gas for his new Ford automobile, which he uses nightly in the city service patrolling the outlying districts. Request gran· A petition was received ~rom twenty-eight r~sidents of the city asking the Board to place ligh' at the corner of Maple and California Avenue,corner of Pine and Maple avenues and at the corner of Aspen and Olive Avenues. Referred to the street committee. Permission was asked by Thomas Allen, 458 Miller Avenue, to build a garage 1A?~16 feet in dimensions on the rear of hi~ lot ~ lA block ~llS. ~ermission granted. The laid over application of M.B.Eoop for a pool hall license for the store #228 Grand Avenue ~was acted upon and on motion regularly carried was rejected. An application for a soft drink license was received from Thomas Silver for the location $11~ grand ~venue. Rejected. Mrs Gertrude Molina~i made application for a permit to build a store and dwelling of two stori. on her lot #649 Badam Avenue. The location being in the restricted district permission was refused. After considerable discussion the City attorney was requested to look up the law in connection with cities' rights to enforce the cleaning of lots and sidewalks by oroperty owners, with a view to commence proceedings of this kind in this city. The reports Of the Health Officer, F~e~Chief, Electrical Inspector, City Marshal,City Hecorde City Nurse and City Clerk for the month ending January ~1,1925 were next read.
