The Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisco net in regularly adjourned sessioz
in the City Hall, Monday evening, August 27th,~923.
The meeting was called to order at 7;~Q o'clock p.m. by Trustee G.W.Holston, President of
the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Roll call found all Trustees present, to-wit;-
Trustees, F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, J.W.Pitt, H.Scampini, G.W.Holston.
Absent, Trustees, None.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion by Trustee Scampini seconded
by Trustee Pitt and regularly carried were approved as read.
A petition was received from Frank Giffra a~king permission to construct concrete floor
in barn and yard in rear of his place of business, ~224 Grand Avenue. Permission granted.
A communication and blue printwere received from the Pacific Gas & Electric Co. asking for
permission to set a pole on Railroad Avenue opposite Spruce Avenue, to supply power to A Guelfi.
Referred to the street committee.
The local branch of Redmen petitioned the Board for a permit to hold a dance in Fraternal ~
on Saturday evening September 8thnext, the same to last until 2 A.M. Permit granted.
A petition was received from a large number of residents, property owners and citizens of
South San Francisco petitioning the Board to start condemnation proceedings to secure a road to
Tan Foran Race Tract and one to Los Ceritos Tract by Orange Avenue extension, stating that these
improvements are necess~.ry and essential for the development of the City of South San Francisco.
Immediate action was requested. After considerable discussion on the proposed improvement Trustee
Cunningham moved to request the City Attorney to look up the statutes covering condemnation
proceedings, to report at the next meeting. The motion was seconded by Trustee hschelbach and
regularly carried.
The following claims against the city were next presented for payment;-

So.S.F.Water Co Water for trees July $ 4.00
So.City Lbr. & Supply Co Materials S12.00
Total. $62.00
~The bills having been audited by the finance committee Trustee Cunningham
moved they be paid. The motion was seconded by Trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried.
There being no further business before the Board Trustee Pitt moved to adjourn until, the n~
regular meeting Tuesday September 4th, at 7;30 o'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee
Scampini,and regularly carried.
