i~G0'IAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEAS
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH SAN ~?~ANCiSC0
HELD L~0NDAY, FEBRUARY 4TH,
1924.
The Board of Trustees of the City of South San ~rancisco met in regular session in
the City Hall on Monday,~ebruar~4th,19£4.
The meeting wa~s called to order at 7:~0 o'clock p.m. by Trustee G.W.Holston,President
of the Board.
ROLL CALL.
Rol~ call found the following Trustees oresent, to-wit;-
Trustees, F.A.Cunningham,J.W.Pitt,H.Scampini and G.W.Holston.
Absent, Trustee A.J.Eschelbach.
Trustee Eschelbach appeared after roll call.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and upon motion by Trustee Scampini,
seconded by Trustee Pitt and regularly carried were approved ~s read.
~ A~peti$i~n wa§ ~ec$ived from the local Loyal Order of Moose asking nermission to hold
a dance in ~ra~erna± ma21 ~a~urcay evening February 16%h,1924, the same to continue until 2 a.m.
Permission granted.
A communication was received from the local branch of the U.A.0.D., asking permission
to hold s. parade and dance on Sunday, April 27th,1924, the dance to be held in Fraternal Hall, and
to run from ? p.m. until 12 m. and ~to be by invitation only, Granted.
City Recorder J.G.Walker made a~plication for a raise in salary from ~40 th $100
per month, stating the business of the office has grawn so that a great portion.of his time is
occupied with official duties. Taken under advisement. ~
Judge Walker submitted a written communication complimenting the Fire Department on
their efficient work during the fire in his flats on Linden Avenue the previous week, and asked the
Board to pay its compliments to the firemen. The Clerk was instructed to write a letter to the
Fire Chief to this effect.
A communication wss received from the postal workers asking the Board to endorse Kelly
Bill H.R. 4~£~ in the Senate and Lehlbach Bill S 1~20 in the House and to sigm copies of a resolution
to be sent to Senators Johnson and ~hortridge and Congressman Free asking their support of the
pending measures. On motion by ~rustee Cunningham seconded 'by Trustee Eschelbach ~he Board unanimously
endorsed the request.
An application for a soft drink license was received from The Emoloyees Welfare 61ub
of the Western Eeat Company and granted by the following vote:-
Ayes, Trustees, F.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelb~ch, J.W.Pitt, H.Scampini, and G.?~'.Hols~ton.
Noes, ~rustees, None.
Absent, Trustees, None.
The reports of the Fire chief,E~ectrical Inspector,Building Inspector, City ~arshal,
Health Officer, City Nurse,City ~ecorder, City Treasurer and City Clerk for the month of January were
received. The reoort of the City Recorder showed collections of ~!65.00 for the month, while the
report of the City Clerk showed thr following balances in the w. rious funds;-
General Fund, ~24,788.~1, Library Fund, $S5~0.~9, ~ink~ng Fund for sewers, ~1781.82,
Factory Dist Sewer Fund, $469.8£, 1919 Bonds, $7,48Z.4~,Anti-tubercular Fund, ~89.46, Street Improve
ment Fund, ~iZZ.00, Revolving Fund,~?100.00, Streets Funds, ~2~1~.8§. Total balance in all funds,
$~9,791.7~. On motion by Trustee Cunningham seconded by Trustee Eschelbach the re~orts were ax
accepte6~ as read.
The following claims against the city were next prez~ented for payment;-

The claims having been audited by,the finance committee Trustee
be paid. The motion was seconded by Truztee ~schelba h and regularly carried.
There being no further business before the Board Trustee Pitt moved to adjourn until
Monday evening, February llth, at 1924, at ?;Z0 O'clock p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee
Scampini and ~regularly carried.

There being no further business before the Board Trustee Pitt moved to adjourn until
Monday evening, February llth, at 1924, at 7:ZO O'clOck p.m. The motion was seconded by Trustee
Scampini and regularly carried.
