Pursuant to adjournment the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco met in regular adjourned session in the City Hall on the 28th day of April, 1924. The~meeting was called to order at 7;30 o'clock p.m. by Trustee H.F.McNellis, President of the Board of Trustees. Roll Call. Roll call found the following trustees present,to-wit;- Trustees, ~-A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach,H.McCaffrey, H.F.McNellis. Absent, Trustee, Carl Blank, The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. A communication was received from the South San Francisco Merchants' Association pledging it support to the Board of Trustees during the ensuing term, and inviting the board to attend the next meeting of the Association. Communication accepted. A request was received from Pete Kavanaugh, 728-9th Avenue, San Francisco, asking the board to remove a ~ree from in front of his property on Grand Avenue, this city, as the same is breaking the light of the electrolier which was installed fronting the property. Referred to the street comm Antone Bildhaue~,interested in a pool room license with Frank C.Wallace at 228 Grand Avenue, wr6te 'the board relinguishing his right or interest in the same. Accepted. A circular notice was received from Colonel Herbert Deakyne stating that he had reported unfavorably upon the proposition to dredge the bar off South 'San Francisco. The notice contained th information that an appeal t~ the Board of Engineers for Rivers and,Harbors,Munitions Building,Washi D.C.might be taken within a period of four weeks, should interested parties be so dosposed. Trustee Cunningham stated that an appeal was contemplated by the Chambers of Commerce of the Peninsula and suggested that the Board~of Trustees act in conjunction. City Attorney Davis was instructed to dra up a suitable resolution joining in %he appeal snd have the same ready at the next meeting. Soft drink license applications were received from S.A.Rowell,20~ Grand Avenue, and Chas. Se & 0.E.Fischer, llS Grand Avenue. aeferred to the City ~arahal for investigation. This being %he date set for the opening of bids for %he construction of sewers in the west section of the city Trustee Cunningham moved that the bids be opened. The motion was seconded by trustee Eschelbach and regularly carried. The bids of the three(3) lowest bidders were held over until a future meeting, when the contract will be awarded. The certified checks or,all the other bidders were returned. Resolution authorizing the City of South San Francisco to make application before the Railroad Con~ni~'sion for a grade crossing. Resolved by the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco that l~he City of South San Francisco through the President of the Bo~rd of Trustees make application _~'for a grade crossing at the following described points: Being a right of way 60 f~t wide, lying 30 feet on either side of the follow- ing described centerline, in the City of South San Francisco, to-wit: BEGINNING at a point which is the intersection of the northerly line of the Southern Pacific Railway Company's right of way, Baden Branch, with the centerline of Orange Avenue produced ~outhe~; Running thence South 15 degrees 33 minutes West 50 feet to the southerly line of said Southern Pacific Railway Company's right or,way, Baden Branch, in the City of So~h San Francisco and that the City Attorney be/ directed to file the necessary proceedings before the Railroad Commission. -,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,-,- I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City of ~ou~h San Francisco this 2~th day of April, 1924, by the following vote: Ayes, Trustees J~, .~;'F,A. Trustee ~cCaffrey introduced a resolution for the ~betement of weeds in the city of South S~n Francisco , the same in conformity with the State law, and covering the same territory as in 192Z,preecribing ~he lines ~nd lot and block numbers. The resolution was passed by the votes of the ~ollowing trustees,to-wit;- Ayes, Trustees, ~.A.Cunningham, A.J.Eschelbach, H.~cCaffrey, H.F.~cNelli~. Lioes, Trustees, ~one.
