CITY OF SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO HELD MONDAY,

The regular meeting of the Board of Trustees of the City of South San Francisco was held'
0ity HaN~nday evening, November l?th,1924.
The meeting was called to order at ?;30 p.m. by Trustee H.F.McNellis, President of the bo~
ROLL CALL.
Roll call foundth~ifOtlowing trustees present;to-wit, Trustees Carl Blank. F.A.~unningham,
H,McCaffrey,and H.~.McNellis. Absent, Trustees A.J.Eschelbach, TruStee Eschelbach appeared after i
call.
The minutes of the previous meeting were r$~doand approved.
A oomunication was received from Joe Welts asking a permit to hold a d~nce in the name o~
King Club at Fraternal Hall Saturday evening November 29th next, to last until 2 A.M. and on~ for N,
Year's eve., December 31st, next, the same to last until 4 a.m. Granted.
The Panama Pacific Lodge $~ made application for a permit to hold a dance in Fraternal Hal
The~ksgiving eve, November 26th next, Granted.
Trustee Cunningham having paid the sum of $1.34 for clearing weeds at lotl~lock 124,erron,
charged the amount was ordered refunded.
Chas Tacchi ~§34 Spruce Avenue reported that he is charged with the sum of $2.1§ for clea~
of weeds in front of his property, and that there were no weeds there to be removed. Referred to th~
City Engineer.
~.C.SChwingel made application for the insurance of the city employees, on motion by Trus~
Eschelbach seconded by Trustee McCaffrey the business was granted him.
· A communication was received from H.Alverez, 1938 Baker Street~'~fering the city a secn~i
hand e~ree~ sweeping machine,original cost $~800. Communication ordered filed.
A communication was received from C.C.Zollinger,Secretary og the Merchants Association .
asking that the city enforce the zoning ordinance, inasmuch as there is a barber shop operating at
#407 Commercial~Avenue. The City Marshal was ins~ructed to enforce the zoning ordinance to the let1
Mr..Zollinger also stated in another communication that the city should have set holes
Sidewalks at various places for the setting offlags and bunting and other decorations on holidays
special occasions. Referred to the street committee.
Enrico Rosetti, Secretary of the Fraternal Hall Association wrote~the board stating that
.clearing of Weeds w~s charged against the· Hall Association and asking for the refund of $1.34 on th~
account. Amou~tordere~ ref~mded.
Joe a~d Alberto Ferrario ,#4AB Commercial Avenue, made application application for the s~
sweeping work, and agreed in writing to do the work for the sum of SB£B per month. As bids were not
advertised for at this meeting the communication was ordered filed. ·
The subject of rolling and caring for Swift Avenue sidewalk next came up. President McNel~
appointed on~ this committee Trustees McCaffre~,: Cunningham and Eschelbach.
This being the date set for the hearing of ~y protests a~ainst the construction of alleys
under Resolution of Intention $53, the Presigent of the board asked if there were any pwrsons presez
who wished to protest against the acceptance of the work.
After discussion it was decided to postpone action in the ~atter until Thursday evening,
November 20th,1924, 2t ? ~'clock p.m.
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING DEED.
Trustee Eschelbach introduced a resolution accepting a deed to the lot No ~, block ~116,

the same was adopted by the following vote;-

The claims having been audited by the finance committee Trustee Blank moved they be paid.
The motion was seconded by TMustee McCaffrey and regularly carried.
There being no further business before the board Trustee McCaffrey moved to adjourn until
Thursday evening, November 20th,1924 at ? O'clock p.m.
